Leaky Lunars - update ?

Hi, time has passed since the big leaky lunar disaster, can I ask if anyone else out there who had their vans fixed under warranty at the time (like us) is now finding the problem is recurring ?

So wish we had got rid of ours once it was fixed but no, we thought - that's it, its ok now so we'll hang on to it. 

Ours is a 2014 model (Quasar 546) that we bought at the National in 2015 - brand new unsold stock. it was fine until the 2nd service (2017) when surprise, surprise 60% damp in the front panel. Took us almost a year to get it finally fixed so right up to the 3rd service(2018), which of course - was fine.

As was the following year too 2019, then this year we decided to go back to our regular service engineer as we no longer had to worry about the warranty conditions, just got it back today ...

everything fine except for 'up to 60% damp' in front AGAIN! and of course most, if not all manufacturers are closed up due to Covid 19 and that is without the small issue (!!) of Lunar changing hands. It is not a warranty issue obviously but a parts one.

Have a feeling it is going to be a long time getting anything done anytime this year (deja vu)

Are we the only ones in this position? When it happened last time I did say I personally thought it was not so much a parts failure but a design fault, I am thinking that again now. I would be interested to hear other Lunar owners experiences ?

    Sorry to hear you're still experiencing issues. I suspect you maybe in for a very very long wait and the current situation wint help at all. I really hope you get it sorted sooner rather than later.

    I have a swift three years old.  Three years of warranty claims.  Latest one is mine is subject to the recall whereby the van separates from the frame.  Apparently mine is affected.  Apparently they won’t even do anything for 6 months and was advised could be a year.  Same with ALKO.  The brakes are now on the SECOND warranty claim.  ALKO a have told dealers not to submit warranty claims for six months.  Pathetic really (this was pre Corona )

    MDD10 - while you are in limbo due to Covid 19, you can check your van yourself with regard to the recall. Ist look in the front locker corners and check if any of the screws in the aluminium angle are missing or loose.

    Then look at the front leg winder holes, and check if the hexagon nut appears centrally located.

    If they are both OK, then its probably a good one.

    As said, mine is one requiring repair, although apparently safe to use.  A whole load of fairly fundamental screws have to be drilled out and replaced.
