Emovis tag
I have had an Emovis tag (previously known as a liber-t tag) for many years which was invaluable on the French motorways. In 2019 I changed from my car/caravan outfit and bought a motorhome. I transferred the tag to the motorhome. The tag mostly permitted me to join the motorways but I had difficulty when exiting. I have since discovered that as the motorhome is over 3500kgs this is the reason for the difficulty. I contacted Emovis to seek an upgrade for the motorhome but was advised this was not possible. I was directed to their sister company but they only provide tags to companies for fleet vehicles.
With the increasing popularity of motorhomes I am surprised that no one has come up with a solution to this

Is the Motorhome higher than 3 metres ?

As I said it will mostly let me on to the motorway but not off it which means I have to get assistance which causes a delay. The vehicle is 2.99 but I have an aircon unit and satellite dish.

Yes the tag was properly fitted it is Emovis that have advised that because the vehicle is over 3500kgs and the increase in height that is the problem. My motorhome has just 2 axles.

I had quite a bit of trouble initially with the positioning of my tag so moved it down the windscreen to about the level of the windscreen wipers in the parked position. Had no further problem. I am not sure how they would know your motorhome is over 3500kgs as you can have identical motorhomes, one with the original configuration and another with an upgraded weight limit? Do they have weighing facilities at the toll exit?

We did have a problem the first time we used it, but that was with a car. It just kept going beep but the barrier didn't raise. OH got out and showed we had a tag to the camera and the barrier was raised. Never had a problem after that, although the charge for that section took 2 months to come through. The same tag with our MH works perfectly with it behind the mirror where they show in their diagram. However, we have very little overhang over the windscreen. I understand that can cause problems. Our MH is below 3 metres and 3.5 tonnes. Although I have never noticed any weight plates at the barriers. Don't some windscreens have a coating that stops transmission. Which is why they tell you to mount it on the black stippled bit if that is present. Our car has the stippled bit the MH doesn't.

I should have perhaps added that the reason I moved the tag was that, my then motorhome, had a slight cab overhang so if I put it near the mirror it couldn't be seen by the overhead sensors.

Perhaps it's natures way of saying avoid toll routes.

The OHI (Overhead Fare Indicators) are usually positioned as the photo indicates and your Tag should be in sight of them as you go through the booths.
If weight was an issue - over 3500kg - then many Motorhomes are designated 3500kg but possibly often run fully loaded on holiday at over that figure and would be Classed accordingly.
