Black streaks on caravan paintwork

Hi All

Just taken off my caravan winter cover only to find the van is covered in black patches/streaks. Tried everything to remove including elbow grease with all the products listed below but to no avail.

I washed the van in November and used Bobby Dazzler to help protect the paint work. I think the wind and abrasion has caused ' 'skid' marks across the surface and now the Bobby Dazzler has set hard.

If anyone has any suggestions on how to clean these off I would be eternally grateful.

So far I have used Fenwicks diluted and neat, white spirit, mild polishing past, vinegar.etc etc

Hope someone can help here

Thanks

Chris

Or try Auto Glymm black streak remover. Works for us.

The waterless wash products work really well at removing streaks and blemishes. Muc-off or Aldi own brand both gave excellent results. Far less effort than some of the better known brands.

Hi, what my husband does in the winter is wash the van, then waxes the van with something like MER, but doesn’t polish it off.

in spring the black streaks are on top of the wax and just polish off.

during the year he uses the Dry wash, Greased Lightning/Showroom Shine or similar.

Works really well, people often come up to us to ask how he cleans it. It’s 12 years old and looks like new.

    Good luck, keep safe.

Another supporter of Silky, great for black streaks and can also be used on the windows to remove light scratches.

I can never get Mer off my car after 10 mins or so no idea how your other half polishes it off after so many months
