And us too. smile Don't make it a fantasy do it if you can. Orkney and Shetland hold keys to our past, fascinating if you're interested.

Yes, when we stayed at Inverness we did a day trip to Orkney and I found it fascinating and want to go back asap.

Go for it, Corners. The sites pass muster on all the island groups. 👍🏻

We had a Scottish trip planned for June comprising of heading up to  the Cairngorms, then The Kyle of Lochalsh, then Appin and then finally down to Dumfries and Galloway before heading home. Sites were all booked and itineraries planned: totally gutted it isn't happening now....but hopefully we can do it next year.

I'm still (possibly naively) hopeful that our trip to Cumbria in mid September may happen😊

Might bump into you there as it's on our fantasy tour.

We found it fascinating when last there. We caught the ferry to a number of the smaller islands, Papa Westray and Hoy stick in the mind. Want to get to Shetland next time.

We called off in Aviemore to celebrate summer soltice (and my birthday) . Climbed to the top and it was at freezing point and snowing!

WH and TW, of course I'll do it in a MH - that's only a fantasy as I haven't got the spare money to have both, I sure would if I could.

Start at Moffat, then up to Fort William to Glen Nevis.  Then across to Glenmore Cairngms.  Down to Witches Craig Stirling. Over  to Culzean Ayrshire.  Then down to Lake District near Keswick. Coming down to Chester Fairoaks before heading home.  We did this 2014 but it was a bit longer then a month.
