I have just had the Nick Lomas CAMC e mail about sites staying open. I disagree with this very strongly, this will spread the virus even further and put more people at risk. We can all read on line and can see the number of those affected in different UK areas steadily going up, holiday travel is not essential in my book.

this is exactly how the major spread was caused in Spain, people from Madrid who were already infected fleeing to the coastal regions where a lot of holiday homes hoping to escape the virus, too late, many were infected and spread the virus to the coastal regions, police have been involved heavily in returning these people, but of course it is too late now, damage done.

Some of you may have read my post on Stay or Go yesterday. I am still unsure and after reading your posts here, I think I should stay. I have just read on line that the reason so many old people in Italy have died is that Italian youngsters visit their older relatives more, and many households are multi-generational, just like mine. I think it is highly likely me and my husband will catch it from one of the family. Between the devil and the deep blue sea, that's us.

I know I'm leaving myself open to abuse from certain members but unless things change we are going away for our pre-booked trip this weekend. We will follow all hand washing instructions. We will not visit any shops etc and not enter any buildings (apart from checking in).
We will walk our two dogs in the fresh air, read, play cards and drink lots of wine.
On Monday we will return home having only spoken with the warden and no one else unless we say good morning as we pass.
Hardly think my actions can be interrupted as dangerous or irresponsible.

Hi everyone,
Just to let you know the email I posted earlier on the UK campsites discussion will also be emailed to members. We wanted to post on Club Together in case anyone missed it in their inbox. They are being sent out this afternoon and you may have already received.

A recently retired GP we know is of the view the measures from all Govts the world over are a waste of time. There are only two ways to erradicate the virus. A vaccine and/or natural ‘herd’ immunity. Trying to stop it by lock downs and quarantines is impossible even with 100% impact on every single person for at least 3 weeks and effectively pushing water uphill with a fork. The very people who patrol and enforce the lock downs are potential carriers and every trip you are allowed out for food is spreading the virus further. He believes the world will be fighting this for years and will certainly return next winter when we let our guard down.

I understand your dilema, although i find it difficult to condone your actions, but i live in an area where i can very easily dump the dog in the back of my car go to an area by the sea, 5 minute drive, walk the dog in glorious sunshine and fresh air, return home in the comfort that i have probably not been within 1/4 of a mile of another person whilst out of my car, many do not have this luxury .
you say We will not visit any shops etc and not enter any buildings (apart from checking in).not sure what measures the club have introduced to comply with social seperation the government are now advising but this could be your 1st weak leak and 2nd using the onsite facilities
We do have family close by including Gkids and this weekend is Mothering Sunday but we have agreed to meet only via Face Time, we are both in our 70,s and although very fit we feel this is the right thing to do, so we are making a concerted effort to stop the spread of this virus, and this includes keeping our caravan at home.

No intention of going to any sites, Club or otherwise. I really cannot see the point. Museums, NT properties, cinemas etc are all closed and I certainly don't think it worth the risk visiting the virus breeding grounds of pubs and restaurants.
I'm happier at home with my books, computers, garden, hot tub and all the DIY jobs I have got to do. I also have the countryside on my door step if I want to take a walk.

I have now received the email sent to all members. This was why i started this thread and thank you to all at CAMC HQ, the site wardens and others who ate working through this unfolding disaster movie. Good luck to all members and their families and hope we are all still around the forum and enjoying our pasttime on the other side of C19.

ditto peedee, and i know you have strong views on this as do i, but we should not forget that many may live in less desireable situations e.g. high rise apartments in largely built up areas where it is going to be very difficult to get out let alone take fido for a walk, so we all need to be careful before we pre-judge, and this is going to get a whole lot worse, my daughter in Spain is already going crazy and she is only 1 week in,

I dont know how many people saw the photograph in the press this morning of a British girl breaking the rules by using the hotel swimming pool.
A Spanish Gendarme stripped off waded in handcuffed her and dragged her out whereupon she was duly arrested, not sure of the outrage that would occur if that happened over here but it is a measure of just how serious this stay or go away is going to get.

Where we live, is very much open country from the bottom of our road, about 300yards, so keeping a distance from others is quite easy
,also there are numerous ways that I can take Rosa with minimal chance of seeing and meeting any one, although there were a few more out with their dogs at lunchtime
And a lot more vehicles in the road ,could be a lot more are working from home , or told to stay at home, from their workplaces
Ps, I would think the pollution levels in this area are well down , that has now been noticed, , What is missing is the site and sounds of aircraft

Not all of us are retired either. Like many i have a stressful job and the time away in the caravan is a godsend. Working at home is ok to a point - it will save me all the costs of 280 miles a week driving/commuting and parking costs but it is also very isolating and stressful in other ways.

I don't doubt that for a minute, BUT, that is no different for those who ARE retired and over 70 and who have been advised to stay at home. And many of those don't even have someone living with them, so they, to me, are even more isolated than someone working from home; at least they do have some/a lot of social contact via work.
I really do feel sorry for elderly people on their own, who may now not see anybody for days.
