We have a booking through the Club to visit France for 6 weeks in May.  Ferry, pitch, breakdown and Health Insurance all paid for.

We have none of the “underlying” problems that warn of high risk, but we are in our 80’s.   However, we do hope to be able to travel, and feel that with common sense the risks would be no greater than staying at home.

Whether at home or in France, we still have to do our weekly shop, and past experience has shown that our supermarkets tend to be more crowded than the French ones we visit.

One problem with these questions is that we are being overtaken by events. A near total lockdown on all travel is now more or less in place, either to the continent or within the UK; a week ago some travel was still ok.

I suspect the club will be forced to make some sort of announcement soon.

Overseas? Currently?  quite simply you aren't going. Ask again in September.

What part of 12-16 weeks isolation and ‘this could last 18 months’ do people not understand? It is evolving situation and these 15day lockdowns and quarantines sur le continent are misleading the public, they will need extending again and again.

    Hello gents

Just got off the phone to mate Steve, who is actually in Spain at the moment having a nightmare time.

His partner had to fly home to tend to her Mother who has become ill, Steve stayed in the motorhome at a campsite ( they are in the process of buying a villa).

The following day he was forced to leave the site due to new regs regarding Caronavirus ( If no shop on site,it must close).

he was taken to a retail park to stay along with 4 other motorhomes.

He must not go out of the van at all ( because of the `lock down` in Spain).

He can go to shop to buy groceries but must keep receipt as proof of why he`s out. Only allowed to travel if had permission off an official, then only short distances.

He told me there are police patrolling in cars every half hour. Even drones passing overhead sometimes!

He feels like he`s in some horror film.

I just hope UK dosn`t go into lock down, yet to be all home is not as bad as being stuck in a motor home, just relying on your solar panels.
