Whatever type it is, it’s not necessary to use either of those fluids. They are purely optional.

The only fluid (or tablets) you really need is the blue to go in the holding cassette.

Incidentally, toilets are not specific to one make or model of motorhome.

I just wonder if the flush comes out of a central reservoir instead of it's own holding tank. If so then nothing should be added to that, only to the cassette itself.

Motorhomes, if they have an external flap, adjacent to the toilet on the inside, where you add water into a holding tank to which you can add flushing freshener.  However some no longer have this facility and the toilet flush water comes direct from the internal mains tank so there is no way of adding flush freshener. If that is the case I think you can buy a spray bottle of pink liquid.

That was just what I said, but more eloquent put. Of course there is no need to purchase a spray bottle of pink fluid, one could use can old spray bottle and mix up some pink or other disinfectant such as Zoflora.

...nor a need to put 'blue' anything in the casette....

ALDI/LIDL bio washing sachets are clean, convenient, far far cheaper than rip off Proprietry branded 'additives' and (best of all) do the jobwink

I was a bit dubious about these and only used them for the first time last year. Now definitely a fan, so much easier and less messy than the blue, even when they had sold out of the pods and we had to buy a bottle of liquid. Zoflora in a recycled spray bottle works well for a rinse aid as NTH states. Our flush water comes from the main water tank, so no additives possible. Actually even if it had a separate tank I wouldn't have used the pink. MH was new and I wouldn't have wanted all the black bits that the pink causes. They were difficult to get rid of in the caravan.
