Swift Recall
Fellow Swift Caravaners, just wondered if you have been affected by the current recall of their Caravans?
The issue we have is that the third year warranty needs to be done before the 1st April, and the Swift engineer is due to come out on the 23rd April. People are being advised not to tow their vans until the engineer has been out, but Swift are refusing to extend the dates needed to comply with their warranty clause.
Is anyone going through this as well.

Hi Gail
From what I have seen elsewhere. As Swift have issued this recall I believe That if your Caravan is inspected and found to be faulty/unsafe The transport of your Caravan to a Dealer or the Swift Factory for repairs etc will be covered by Swift: even if it's outside the Warranty period.

We have been affected by the recall. Our 2017 Sterling Eccles 635 was on the list. When we received the letter on 14th Jan I replied back to state what dates I would prefer and where the caravan was stored. Received a auto reply email which stated it would be 7-10 days before we received a reply.
On 1st March still had no reply from Swift. Decided to ring customer services as we had holiday booked for the end of March. Was informed twice that we should get a call back still nothing.
Decided to contact our dealer where we bought the caravan which was new and initially informed they knew nothing about the recall. On 4th March I contacted the dealers and Swift again and informed them I was going down the consumer protection route and was taking advice from Citizens Advice. Next day dealers rang me to say they could carry out the recall checks. All checks ok and no repairs required.
Why has it been so difficult to sort this recall. At least contact customers. A lot of unhappy customer on how this has been dealt with .
