Didn't that saying originate from a rather cloth-eared southern purveyor of round ball fame, similar in looks, to a contestant at Crufts?

    Baaaaaaaant aaaaaaaaah 😉😀😀

According to some reports Brian has read this could be the last  time we will hold the " 6 Nations " championship  -- could become the 7 Nations with the possible addition of South Africa !! Another side that would not be upset if they can put on over on Engerland  Engerland wink

That was a decent match and a deserved win for Ireland. I thought Wales might make a better fight of it but they just didn’t have it in them.🙁

It was a superb match👍🏻. Wales 1st game was excellent, this one not so much. Poor George North, he played like he’d just found out his birth parents were Irish🤷🏻‍♂️. Every player like every team play below par at some point.

I’d like to say that was a deserved win for England to take the Calcutta Cup……but I can't😟

Haven’t seen it yet but score indicates an England win.  Now I might be totally wrong but I thought the idea was to win

My comment was tongue-in-cheek, sarcastic if you like. Not a great game, littered with handling errors, but played in difficult conditions. For me, England edged it, as the score line suggests.

Indeed it is, One, and England did it. Whether it was deserved, though, is another matter.

I'd take no notice of Freddy's off beat 'humour'. 😋

England did just about reserve it as Scotland did so very little with the ball, and made so many errors especially at the lineouts. I can't understand why they took that last penalty at goal instead of taking their chance at a lineout or even a scrum. Had they then scored a try they were in a position of possibly winning the game whereas with just the 3 points they could only draw.

Just seen France beat Italy, but Italy did manage three tries and got a load of penalties against a lacklustre France

I'm not airing my opinions on the games played this weekend only my utter dismay and disgust at the Scottish fan who threw a bottle at one of the English coaching staff.

What a moron and a total disgrace. May you rot in hell.

    JR,

I did not see if the bottle was beer, spirits,  empty or part full --  the difference could mean a very serious injury like loss of an eye or just a bruise & a nasty shock.

What I have seen, though, in the run up to these matches this year is an increase in the pre-match jibes and threats from senior members of the coaching staffs --  WHO REALLY SHOULD KNOW BETTER  !!

    { Apologies for 'shouting'  but there are times ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, ,, }

    Brian,

I couldn't agree more and the current English coach seems to have this 'Antipedian' mentality of pre-match winding up the opposition (although he says it's in retaliation)

By all accounts, the bottle thrown was plastic,  with beer in it. Irrespective of what it was, it's still a missile and should never have been thrown.

What is going on north of the border? First they (embarrassingly) threaten to sue the RFU at the World Cup, then there's dissension in the ranks with Mr Russell's fiasco, the altercation in the tunnel at Twickenham, then there's disrespecting the kicker (which also needs to be stamped out) and now this!

Much more of this and the police will put a ban on drinking inside Rugby stadiums!

Come on Scotland -get your act together!!

Nearly 30 mins played Italy V Scotland  and the sun is beaming down so there will be lots of Scots sheltering  - well they wont be used to it cool

30 mins gone,  0 -- 5  with a try just disallowed for a forward pass  undecided

Hmm, I’m trying to work out if Italy have improved since earlier matches or if Scotland are not playing as well as they might. 🤔

Poor game in Italy, only to be expected as the two worst teams in this year's competition played their part in a pretty dull encounter. Scotland will be pleased to get a win at last.

Fabulous game! Wales A team (in blue aka France) vs Wales B team (in red) The only difference between the 2 sides? An Englishman who has turned the French into a 'force majeure'

On another note, is anyone else fed up with the biased comments of commentators on BBC? Eddie Butler, perhaps less so, but Jonathon Edwards? Dear me, time you went back in the stands with the supporters.

At least William Pollock McLaren (God rest his soul) remained impartial and was incredibly knowledgeable. Mr Edwards couldn't lace his boots, so to speak, and is also suffering from having been kicked in the nether regions a few too many times! The sherry glasses have to be moved from the sideboard for fear of his screeching!
