Would love to. Amongst others, I just happen to have a booking for Southport for 8th March for a week.

Long time since we saw you that time at Southport! We traded in our original Bailey Approach for a smaller Bailey Alliance 66-2 about a year ago. Same as and Advance but just a few more bells and whistles!!!

Hi Ruby... I was thinking of some of the good folk who used to post on here just the other day - wondering how they were doing, and you came to mind. I remember our visit to Tredegar - while I was in the office booking in, my wife was in the car and was astonished to be greeted by a lady who looked through our car window and exclaimed...'It's Lizzie'!! It was lovely to meet you then, although briefly, and we have missed you on here.
Welcome back to motorhoming and, of course to CT. Lizzie is doing well now, in spite of some ups and downs health wise. Lovely to hear from you RT.... It would be great to catch up on site at some stage....

Hi Ruby. Yes I woke on site at Newcastleton one morning, about 10 years ago, to find that my strong eye no longer worked. Just a very little area working at the top of the field but above the main focus area. My weaker left I did work. I managed to buy some non prescription glasses that allowed me to see so that I could drive home.
The consultant at the hospital told me that there is a 30% chance that the same will happen to the other eye.
I have become more used to it but I had a few amusing mishaps due to it. I grilled a whole large tray of bacon slices to make sandwiches for some lads doing UPVC soffit and fascias to the house. When I came to make up the sandwiches there seemed too little bacon and so I quickly knocked up a large omelette to bulk them up. After everyone was fed I returned to the kitchen to clear up and found that I had missed 25% of the bacon in my blind spot. A few times I have stood looking at something and talking with OH and stepped forward only to walk into somebody crossing my path from the right. Had a nice waltz with a lady in Ludlow that I tripped up and saved her from falling. At Jodrell Bank Observatory canteen I ordered food turned and walked away only to walk into some poor chap sat at a table eating his meal. If I turn to my left it is fine but if I turn to my right I am blindsided as I turn and anything on the floor is a hazard.
That was a long post Ruby but you did ask
But yes we are still touring for about 17 weeks and a two week Christmas break at Southport.

Thank you RT. Has it really been over three years? Anna started at uni, (actually it was Falmouth) back in September 2016 - she finished last September and has decided to stay in Falmouth. She still hasn't found her 'ideal' job, so she's working in one of the local convenience stores at the moment and applying for various photography/ media related jobs. She seems happy enough. Tom, our son, lives with his wife and family in our village, and Ruth, our eldest, currently living in Leek with her husband, has recently bought a small cottage on the Isle of Lewis as they are moving in April! You couldn't make it up... An a in Falmouth and Ruth in the Outer Hebrides!
At the moment, we are out in the caravan at Harbury Fields, Leamington. I'm off to the NEC today, while Carol is Lizzie sitting. She's fine now.
Hope you are dry at Tredegar. There are lots of floods about so stay safe. When we came down to Tredegar we also met 'Whatername' and 'Whatsisname'. Others who disappeared from CT within the fulness of time. I'll let you know when we manage to get down to Tredegar.
Best wishes from Carol, me, and Lizzie too!!
David

Hello, and welcome back! 😁 Good to read from you again, and I hope things are going well. Only stayed at Tredegar once, but we liked the Site, and enjoyed the area.
Hope you have a lovely time back out, now your wheels roll along again!👍

Good heavens easy T , I know it's an outside chance , but you wouldn't be a distant relative of Norman wisdom !! Would you ?
Who I might add was a friend of ours , you sound very similar with your mishaps , anyway hopefully will be seeing you , ( first I hope ) 👍

No no relation
When I saw the consultant 12 months later for a second review he was telling me that a month earlier a man had presented with the same problem as me. He had sent him for a blood test before carrying out a further examination and the poor chap had to be led back from phlebotomy dept as the sight hand gone on his other eye. Tragic
