Very few of the latter about these days, low. Most CL owner realise what we members like and will accept, and endeavour to meet those requirements.

Without checking up I should imagine that farm site CLs form the highest percentage of the overall CL numbers.

In that case you are certain to find some sites that are not up to scratch, hence the opening post. I just wonder if LoW has had a bad experience. If that is the case then maybe he/she is reluctant to repeat it.

However, having checked my own records, we have stayed on 15 farm sites last year, amongst others, and would return to every one without hesitation. I can only think of 2 farm sites in the last 5 years where I wouldn't, and thankfully can't, go again. So possibly 2% at most. Maybe I've just been lucky but I don't think so.

We don't avoid CLs with farm in their title but having once stayed at a particular working farm, we once found that the milking shed was on the other side of the wall we were pitched against at about 5 in the morning ..... It was noisy!  So we are perhaps a little wary of them now. Having said that, one of our favourite CLs is a farm at the end of a single track road!
