Coachman Acadia 575 towing issue
Hi
I picked up a brand new Coachman Acadia 575 on Saturday.
Within minutes of leaving the dealer we noticed a resonance noise coming from the car/van at speeds of 50mph plus.
We returned to the dealer and took a technician out on several test drives to try and locate or identify the issue.
We ended up leaving the new van so they could continue the investigation.
They have called today saying they have tried 3 other towing vehicles and the noise hasn't returned and think that our VW Tiguan is causing wind turbulence.
I'm not sure if I should accept the van or reject it?
Any thoughts
Thanks
Wayne

Unless you can prove that there is a fault with the van I doubt if you can reject it. If the fault lies with your car then it will be up to you to remedy the problem.
Will the dealer let you sit in with them whilst they tow the van with different vehicles? This might confirm to you where the problem lies.

Hi. I have a coachman acadia 580 towing with a 2016 land rover discovery and I have the same noise when towing. The dealer said they have had one other customer back with this issue. The other customer had a 4x4 but not a Land Rover. They tested there caravan with saloon cars and no noise. The customer ended up buying a front cover for there caravan and the noise stopped. I don’t think this is the answer as what happens when these are wet and dirty when you get to a site or home. How are you supposed to dry them when away to stop transfer of dirt onto the caravan side.

I have a similar issue with my car when towing my Lunar Quasar. We've tracked it down to the rear window, which in the older style Kia/Hyundai's like mine was open-able. We found that if we lock all the doors before setting off, it eradicates the hum/flutter.

Wonder what the OP decided to do?
