but a club site, with a contract, will be on a 'regular route'...
if the requirement for a delivery moves from (say) a monday to a thursday, a phone call will delete a stop from mondays 'route' and add one to thursdays...its what suppliers tend to do for customers...in the real world.
i know this is a foreign concept for the club as its the club's rules/schedule and staffing levels that dictate to customers what happens...definitely the tail wagging the dog.
in the world away from clubland, businesses tend to react favourably to customers' requests.
not sure how DPD, Yelloh, Parcel Force etc manage when one day a customer has a parcel and then doesnt for another week or two...blooming inconvenient.

Where I live the tanker visits on a set schedule and tops up as needed.
However, if gas runs low between scheduled visits they respond to a phone call and fill up - simples!

But the parcel will still be on the normal route of the vehicle, As posted before it seems you are as normal not really up to speed with what is now in all company's mind sets is it cheaper?not, is it better, and all delivery vehicles these days will have set routes worked out to be the shortest and cheapest method so if you change a dayfor your delivery it will still be on the vehicles "route"
Before my Daughter got her latest job as transport "executive "for a national company she did a similar job with John Lewis and both companies have set delivery routes no matter how many drops there are and with modern "work practices "the drivers are quite often "job and finish"how ever many drops/hours are required

When I've used DPD etc. The cost has been higher if I have wanted a named day, or next day, rather than when they want to deliver it. I would imagine an unscheduled call out will cost the supplier more, this will get passed on to the customer somehow, even if not immediately obvious.

I love the creative job titles👍🏻. When one of my children was in the ‘what I want to do’ phase he was a(this was his official title) ‘senior sales executive’ it was just him btw. He called up folk to try & sell em WIFI😊. He lasted 3wks😝😝. Senior sales executive eh?, what a hoot👍🏻

Because all, as I said ,companies have set routes to keep costs down
But of course those who think its "easy"do not understand it seems the way most companies run these days ,I was surprised when I realised after my Daughter "advised" but now understand the economics ,with the ever increasing costs and trying to remain competitive in an ever more expensiveto run company ,as she says there is always someone who thinks they can do better cheaper, but they vary rarely, stay long when they think they have got enough "loss leader"customers to then start charging an economic rate, hence their old customers come back
Ps how many of you know that a large ammount of internet purchased parcels are "delivered"by a person who is only paid per delivered package with their own private vehicle,

When I worked for a construction company many years ago (but after a country wide series of strike actions which meant that the construction workers were no longer 'rained off' and sent home with a loss of wages) on a couple of occasions of torrential, when there was a critical operation to perform, I would tell the workforce 'if you get soaked and finish the job you can go home with your full day's wages. It's Job and Jack'. Now we are full circle to 'Zero hours Contracts' - the bad old days!

Hopefully, it is not "why NOT", more a structured consideration of the total ramifications, in doing something.
Very much so where there are regulations and trade codes of practice to consider and then probably some being requirements that have to be met. Plus as always the cost benefit balance in doing the project at all, and here with it being within a leisure facility, its impact on the ambiance of those enjoying that leisure.
If it is all ducks in a line, then yes go for it. It is just my opinion that whilst doable if it is sited to mitigate the impact of its use, getting them inline will make the retailing price needed kill the concept.
IMO there is and never has been any technical reason it can't be done other than the siting and the bottom line, more so who shoulders the bottom-line, users or the general membership?
None of the accredited negativity, wholly a positive way of planning any successful project, think it out first.

what companies tend to do these days is make their services 'better' AND 'cheaper'....to differentiate themselves from the competition.
You have missed a step there. They first determine what their target customers actually want and the type of service that they actually want. From that point they determine if there is anything that they can add that would actually encourage more custom and whether the cost of such provision was actually self funding.

Quite right, DD. It’s not ‘false news’ at all.
The tanks that feed our house also supply 68 others. It’s a fair size operation although not on the scale of CAMC’s usage. Across the country, economy of scale would work in the club’s favour.

Compaired to some of the other UK companies sites who do loss leaders to try to attract site usage the cc are for the majority it seems a may been posted before that the increased site usage seems to prove, this site had 3 pitches Fri night and full tonight

Not always the case, TW. I know of a few who have to repeatedly call their supplier to get them to come and refill their tanks. If I remember correctly TG was tell us on CT that they were having problems over this winter period.

There were problems in getting LPG anywhere a while back. We had no difficulty but it made the national news at the time.
I suspect larger installations may do better than the small domestic users when it comes to supply and demand.🤷🏻♂️

DD I am going to post that would be alian to you, but to advise that I am now up to speed, via the site staff here ,of the upgrade since I was involved in LPG for our point heaters, and now admit that the supplier is now advised by telemetrics?of when the tanks need a supply and is quite reliable most of the time, but they are checked by the site staff as several sites have had problems, that are on a couple still ongoing and have run out, they do say that on these sites the tankers are instructed to call when on that days route whether or not The system has advised of a top up
