We know that calor cylinders are available at club sites but some still think it is a service supplied by the cc as a comparison when expecting the club to install lpg pumps, for the few who may if its cheaper than elsewhere us them ,with club staff supervising

Do you mean the Bulk cylinders on CMC sites that feed the boilers in the Toilet blocks ?
Surely that is already spoken for, providing heat and hot water for the Toilet blocks ? Could leave the Warden in a dilemma if too many members refill their LPG tanks ?

Then they’d just ring up and get a tanker to refill the bulk tank. They’re not limited to top ups at set intervals.

In the case of filling refillable gas bottles the red book says that an attendant needs to be able to observe that the container to be filled is of the marked suitable type.

23) Cylinders that are designed to be refilled by the public should be of a type that is
recognisable by the forecourt operator and incorporate the following safety features:
− Be fitted with an overfill prevention device, that prevents the cylinder being filled
above 80 % of its capacity.
− Have a fill valve compatible with the nozzle of an autogas dispenser.1 -
Well, nobody has ever come and looked at our Gaslow bottles when we pull up to the LPG pump.
Perhaps they do not realise we are filling bottles as we have a fixed filling point in the side of the van (within the gas locker area).
Or maybe the above rules only apply to "loose" bottles?

I think one of the reasons that some garages that sell Autogas do not permit the filling of refillables is because some have a number of part time workers, many of whom don't stay long. You can tell them to stop pumps if they detect an engine is running or if somebody is smoking nearby or if somebody is filling more than two fuel cans (many fuel stations use that limit for the 'correct' plastic fuel cans as the most you are supposed to store of them at one location is (I think) 10 litres?
Far easier than having them decide which is a suitable gas bottle and which isn't.

They seem to charge 56p a litre which does not sound bad but then they probably have seasonals and hope for passing trade as well. I doubt any CMC provision would .... hopefully. They also say to call at reception so that filling is supervised

I did not ask the question, I simply answered the question as quoted.
However, I still contend in a reselling context, it is simply not a case of adding the pump bit to attach to the vehicle/bottle.
One evident shortfall of several, is if reselling by quanity, that quantity must be measured. Or are we suggesting this being provided unmetered like water and electricity on our sites?__________________________________________
Another aside that does not seem to have been considered in this provision by the CMC of an onsite user LPG pumping facility, is the probability the existing LPG tanks etc it is suggested being use, are not even the CMC's.
With all the regulaitory controls, I suspect it would be leased along with managed by the product provider.
Knowing one provider, I can't envisage that one simply clapping on a user pump and inviting any comers to use it.

It is more a realistic look at what would be for many years to come a very nich market that in the real world of comercial business is not a viable large investment in the infrastructure, if it was so those who post on here about how good other companies site are would have already be well into the market but it seems they also do not see it as a financialy worth it

We were a nation who discovered new ‘worlds’ centuries ago, we were renown for our capacity for change & move forward, it seems some never fully got on board with the innovation. I’m afraid the world is again changing & changing rapidly. For some it will be a time of worry for the rest of us a time for excitement. Change it will-naysayers or no👍🏻

A mixture of both.
Digressing slightly, I recall, although quite a few years ago now, that every Petrol station in Holland seemed to sell LPG. Whether that was due to the taxation position on vehicles, I don't know. It certainly seems more readily available on the continent. Forget booze cruise. Think Gas cruise.

In another of your posts ,you admitted that the company involved allowed their employees to fill the tanks of vehicles after another employee had been in attendance! I would class that as supervision And as also posted by others any filling of fuel of any sort is under supervision even you were when filling all over?

How come?
If it’s the terms of the supply contract, bin it. If it’s a condition stipulated by the supplier, change supplier. If it’s dictated by the club, change their thinking.

It's cheaper , when a vehicle is on a regular route as they will also service other companies at the same time, when I was working It was the same when the tanker topped up the tanks for the many gas fired point heaters,
It is the same with a lot of service contracts another example is PHS that service the toilets for a lot of companies Inc the cc
It is worked out on how much is normally needed at the time of year,which would not be possible if an LPG pump was on their route with unknown usage each time
