Threlkeld Farm Caravan Site
Hi
Has anybody stayed on this site http://www.threlkeldhalltouringsite.co.uk/ this year. We are looking to go there early February, I have looked at the reviews and it seems a very good site all hard standings and super pitches 16 amp 6 toilets and showers 3 for the ladies and 3 for the gents.
I,m interested if any body has any recent photographs from there it would be nice to see the pitches. Also is it a very windy site.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks Brian.

Looks nice. Quite close to A66.

We've looked at this site while staying at Troutbeck Head. It looks as if it would be a very good site, say March to October, but it is a bit exposed and in February there would be every chance that access in and out would be troublesome. I agree that if you want to be in that area, Keswick would be a better option in February.

We have stayed there on several occasions even when it was only 5 pitches and it is a lovely quiet site. Set at the bottom of Blencathra and only a short walk to the village of Threlkeld and its pubs each serving good traditional food. Buses run thro' the village to Keswick tho the walk there is after the floods of 2017 isnt what it was along the old railway track.
The old walk is currently being recreated including bridges replacing those washed away and is scheduled to be completed this year.
Clean well kept and the full serviced pitches are large with views across fields usually with sheep grazing.
We will be back next year to enjoy this great site.
I would suggest if possible try to get on one of the original 5 pitches over to the right as you enter the site.
One stay was in early March with snow covering the fields but the roads we clear and never gave us any problems (driving an Insignia).
Go and enjoy this lovely site set in a wonderful area.
