I have heard from a member currently staying on site that, as no bookings are being accepted beyond October 2020, this might signify that the planned upgrade may be in the pipeline.

This site's facilities are always immaculate thanks to the good efforts of the staff but the upgrade will, I'm sure be welcomed by all.

I've made contact with Rowena in the hope that we might hear confirmation from a member of the Site Team.

If you need a site over the winter period and have to be in the area then can I suggest either Birch Hill Farm  CL at Ellesmere or Rosedale Caravan Park at Penley, which used to be a CL but now expanded a little. Details of Rosedale can be found at

    ukcampsite.co.uk

    Both are recommended.

We're booked in to LMP next week, it's one of our favourite sites.

However I think the site fees are now quite expensive, we're paying £26 per night for 2 adults in January which I think is darn pricey. Given that it's not a serviced pitch, the toilet block needs a complete upgrade & the TV signal is poor (no TV hook up on the bollard). Perhaps the Club have upped prices to fund any upgrade. If true this would be very wrong, I'd be fine if they upped the prices after the revamp but to charge top dollar for pre revamp sub standard facilities is wrong.

Are you sure it is £26?  06/01/20 till 12/03/20 looks to work out at £18.50 per night for two.

One of our frequently visited sites too.

Prices later in the year are a bit too steep for us these days however, so we will use a CL instead

Yes, it works out at £26 per night. its over £27 on the 1st night then a little under £26 for the other 3 nights averaging out at £26 per night.

From Monday 6th of Jan at the start of next week it is £18.50 a night. I guess that your 'next' week starts earlier than mine wink

How many people?  I booked LMP for 5 nights in January before the recent price increase; for 2 adults the price is £89.50, which works out at £17.90 per night.  Now the price is showing at £18.50 per night for 2 adults, but still nowhere near the £26 you quote.

This Sunday night it would be £28.30 for that 1 night, which seems odd, as from last night until Saturday it's less at £26.40, and I'd have thought it would be more expensive over the New Year period.  But, that is not next week, that is now.

I think both the Saturday and the Sunday are at the higher price.

We're at LMP now & the Warden confirmed that Lady Margarets will close in October for an upgrade. They didn't yet know what work was to be done or how long the work would take.

That, for me, is a very welcome confirmation.  I'd be perfectly happy if they just upgrade the shower block  but I have a feeling that they'll 'steal' some of the hard standing pitches between pitch numbers 62 and 66 for serviced pitches.

    We're at LMP now

Ah, that clarifies your earlier post from 31/12 about site fees.  You're there at the moment, not next week, it all makes sense now smile

Ah, but maybe FB is like me and, if staying from Friday for a week and writing on Tuesday, then Tuesday would be "this week" and Friday would be "next week" - until Friday comes, when Friday would be "this week" and Tuesday would be "last week"!

    Simples! wink

But FB is only there for 4 nights, and must be leaving by Monday 6th, as the rate then falls to £18.50,

Like ET, my week starts on a Monday, so from the 31st, "next week" cannot start before the 6th.

You must have some strange weeks down with you!  surprised

I could even countenance 'next week' starting on a Sunday. Not starting last week sometime though!

Blimey - my post was meant to be light-hearted.

I wasn't expecting the Spanish Inquisition! (But then,  not many do, apparently!) surprised

Simples???  Sounds very confusing to me, and no, I haven't been on the pop!  Must be a Wiltshire thing then, do new weeks start there on a Friday wink

It was meant as a joke - obviously confused some, for which most humble apologies! laughing

Hope they will do something with the electric. Some pitches out of action because the supply can’t cope. Do they still have the rally field?

Further update from a member currently on site complete with diagram of proposed work.  It's not completely clear at the moment whether the existing block will be replaced in situ or not or whether the proposed new block will be the only one.

I've found the planning application but not an actual plan drawing of the proposed changes.

Currently on Lady Margaret’s Park Chirk, just spoken to the warden and the redevelopment is due to go ahead Oct-July with 40 pitches in the field circled and a new facility block at the bottom of the site ( marked blue ) with the old facility being knocked down, unsure about any children’s play area though.
