CAMC Insurance

Do folk not understand or do they perceive it not to be an issue of great concern? I’d not underestimate the intelligence of members.

The CMC did as expected. No reason to expect that it would not if the insured complied with T&Cs.
There would not be a problem with a mutual insurance unless there was a dispute. As I have said at least twice the CMC offer a good cover.

exactly, and i stated this earlier, but you will not win the argument because there are those on here who have now purchased insurance away from the club, and although not an insurance broker myself my OH was for many years and she could relate to many instances of "the good the bad and the down right ugly" when it came to so called "reputable" companies withholding payments for what seemed to be trivial reasons.
What people do not seem to be taking into consideration is that the club has more than a reputation as an insurance provider to uphold, it also provides a very profitable caravan and motor home camping business and upholding this reputation is paramount to the club being successful in both areas, so being seem to be wanting in either area could be disastrous for the business as a whole.

obviously touched a raw nerve
I care not at all what you or any others here do for your insurance and find it hard to understand why my affairs are of such interest to you.
so why keep posting and telling us all your domestics, personally i do not care who you use to insure what, but you keep harping on about how you have now found alternative arrangements to the clubs insurance for your treasured Hobby, we get it, you dont think the clubs cover is for you you dont need to keep banging on about it.

The CMC cover policies are, as far as we are told, not underwritten by any other insurance company. The CMC have themselves taken out an insurance to provide funding if they themselves become insolvent and are unable to sustain claim payments. Very much a different thing

Think that was fully explained by Ro, as a mutual it could not legally use the word will.
Ask yourself if your insurance will always pay out? Whatever the circumstances? or just when you meet the conditions for payment. Seems you have a may as well.

Some of the cases are of themselves rather dubious and so that comes as no surprise. To refer to FSO you need not have a substantive claim and may be a person grasping at straws. I have read many cases with various insurances where folk have referred to fso with no chance of a better outcome, including somebody who had their caravan insured and when it was stolen they admitted that required wheel locks were not fitted.

This appears to be going round in circles. There are those that use the club and those that do not, both sets are happy with their choice I assume.
But it would appear that those that seem to be very persistent to trying to point out the 'deficiencies' in the club cover to those that do use it. Yet the club users do not do the same.
Why can't people just accept what people have chosen rather than the constant pointing out of the 'error' of their ways?
End of for me.

Those that do use CMC cover do keep chipping in instead of agreeing the obvious. It is a good product but is not regulated by fos. Simple really.
Some want a regulated policy and look elsewhere. Some are not fussed and are happy to stay with an unregulated excellent product. Some just want to snipe at members for their views. Simple as I said.

As a result, four weeks and three days from the day of the theft, payment was made in full, and we have our replacement 2020 model arriving in January. I could not recommend the CAMC insurance highly enough, they were absolutely magnificent.
Excellent outcome, Is there really anything left to say
PS - most insurance companies will wait over 30 days before paying up so 31 days seems to me very good

I think WN would probably agree that vehicle theft is normally paid out after about 30 days in case of the vehicle being recovered.
Surely, the main point of the thread is that the OP is happy with the service he received.
All the other peripheral stuff being discuss is just so much faff

Yet again the myth that CAMC and it's financial activities are unregulated. The CAMC is registered with FCA and again I will provide the LINK to the registration. Therefore it's financial activities could come under scrutiny.
Even within the auspices of the FCA the word "may" is used in relation to contact with the Financial Ombudsman which CAMC notes in it's references.
