Anyway, what I was going to say - before the thread disappeared when I hit the "Reply" button was that, since we are off to Sandringham on Sunday - I thought I'd check the price for the same dates, next year. A massive increase of all of £5 - or 2% - more or less in line with inflation

I believe the original post stated the booking period was for Xmas at Hillhead so it isn’t accurate to compare that with Sandringham
So like for like dates for Xmas 2019 and 2020 show a massive increase.
2019 pitch plus one adult £24.30 and 2020 is £30.70 and increase of 26.33% and if you include one child this year and next year then there is an increase of a staggering 350%
I can’t remember the exact context of the post other than the OP was querying the extra cost and was it justified. Well looking at the percentage increase it certainly looks justified.

Don’t forget that some Club Site prices are in fact having not one, but two price increases next year. Bookings has been showing the projected price increases since last January. However, the Club has readjusted it’s price increases due to an expected hike in electric costs, and have informed the membership accordingly. It doesn’t affect all sites, so not sure if Hillhead is affected. It sounds as though the subsidised costs for taking children have been reviewed as well? No longer a £1, but up to £4.50 I think someone quoted?
Its not easy comparing bookings, as there are so many possible variables even from year to year. Answer of course is quite simple.....cost it out, if it gives value for money, book it. If it doesn’t, simply find an alternative that does. Only the individual can determine this, despite all the advice from well meaning others.

“ despite all the advice from well meaning others.”
With respect, I’m struggling to think who these well-meaning others are? The ‘vibe’ I get is take it or leave it. I think that as members we have the right to question and criticise price increases. The highlighting of such increases is not only informative, but may also influence some who might be swayed based on principle.

I think most folks will look to provide some positive feedback, it can be a bit difficult trying to do a like for like comparison if you are only party to half the information. I suppose my answer is along the lines of cost it, value it, take it or leave it, but I am trying to be polite! If I was being true Yorkshire blunt I would get moderated!😂
I fully concur in terms of asking questions about price increases, a lot of hot air gets expended on here asking, but it seldom if ever results in any changes!😁
Edit...... I know you are out there lurking at this very moment AD, but please don’t let’s get this thread closed down like the other, I am trying to base my posts on facts, and remaining polite👍

Oops.... that should have read “liking”, not “lurking”, but you get my drift hopefully😋

‘‘I think most folks will look to provide some positive feedback”
If only they would show up
Edit : Just to add, I agree, I’m sure the CC won’t be taking much notice of pricing complaints, but I think it’s right that such increases are brought to our attention.

They did show up, Freddy. They made suggestions for alternatives and sought to find reasons behind the increases.
I think it’s very easy to confuse the offering of an alternative suggestion with 'take it or leave it' and, in the same way, it’s easy to confuse the voicing of a possible reason for an action by the club as support for that action.
Very few people will be totally negative in their responses, most will be factual and, within that, you’ll find the positive.
I think it's important to remember that only a minuscule proportion of the Membership post on this forum and we cannot know what views the rest hold. Therefore, it’s not surprising that the club appears to take little notice of the views expressed here. I agree with others though that some feedback would be useful.

Some feedback would indeed be welcome. Price increases at Christmas certainly seem to be variable. Take Chatsworth a very popular site. Increase pitch plus 2 this year to next is 2%. However, for a family with two paying kids there is actually a £2 (4%) reduction.

The only time I can recall anyone from HQ making contact re prices, is when there have been obvious mistakes in pricing between what is on the website, and what is printed in the new Handbook. Occasionally they haven’t been the same!
Rowena did of course post about the small further increase in prices for certain sites next year, as a result of the energy charge estimates.

Sorry, I don't understand. I was comparing 22 - 29 December this year with 22-29 December, next year at Sandringham. Isn't that Christmas?
The point I was making is that not all sites seem to be subject to massive increases, since in the case of Sandringham, it's only going up by about 2%. Plus Sandringham is a busy site as evidenced by the fact that it's fully booked over the Christmas / New Year period.
We are paying £239 for the week, this year - and next year it goes up to £244 (according to this website).

yes the increase appears variable. In my two 'frequent flyer' sites, (where strangely the per person price has gone up but the pitch fee has come down slightly) the increase for a couple over Christmas peak this year to next is about 4% and 5%. While that appears 'inflation busting' it is actually a £1.40 and £1.80 per night increase. And the Scottish one is fully booked over new year.
As my OH is a Costa coffee 'addict' that is less than one of their coffee drinks. In fact it has become a family joke to gauge any increase or expense in terms of how many Costas is that you'll have to do without?
Also to put another perspective on this, yesterday while queuing for what seems like hours in the post office fro stamps, I calculated that the last 1st class stamp increase was 4.4%.

So mods....... may I respectably ask you to change the title if what you deem to be off topic is off topic, the last few posts were in relationship to the OPs question which was

Sorry Rocky 2 and Tinwheeler. Just logged back in to see my comments removed, as expected, as well as yours. This is all quite laughable and I am simultaneously annoyed and amused with the mods reaction. Mods - as Metheven says, rename the thread. Alternatively, close it with a suitable comment as to why. I'm going back to painting the bathroom now

The thread title is about a disappearing thread and aligned with recent website problems, the link in the OPs post goes to a 'page not found'. It is any ones guess what content should be included so the only clue is the question, which also seems to be off topic.
Best bin it.
