The moral of the story is the " Early Bird Catches the Worm" .However, there still are vacancies for weekend of 18th December.

In your respect FB, I don't see that frenzy day would have made any difference. You still wouldn't have been able to book December 2020 until early this month and the chances are all weekends would have gone by 3:30pm.

For other very popular dates / sites it does now mean there are an additional 10 mini frenzy days. However, for most bookings, away from the honey pots there are no issues.

We would normally have booked up our May / June tour on or around frenzy day. This year I booked at the beginning of November, so bookings had been possible for 5 months. There were no problems on any dates at the sites we wanted.

Does seem a bit daft though, that at sites that close on the 6th Jan 2021 you can still only book until the 3rd. Presumably the last two days of opening will become available next month.

Just shows a lack of joined up thinking.

Yes I'll do that thanks TW.

    Post Script.

I've now managed to book the 13th till the 23rd at YRP straight through, which are the dates we wanted. Those dates weren't available last night or this morning so no idea what has happened there ????  Only problem is we've got half our dates on an awning pitch and the other half on a non awning pitch so we'll have to move our Van half way through our holiday. But at least we've got the dates we wanted.

At least you’ve got it. You may be able to change it later and it may be worth speaking to the warden at some point to see if changing pitches can be avoided but, with a MH, moving is no big deal anyway. 👍🏻

I was waiting with bated breath to book our Christmas/New Year pitch for next year (26th Dec - 3rd Jan). 8 nights averaging at £47.80 a night on a serviced pitch at Hillhead, no thanks, just booked at Swanage private site with same or better  facilities (indoor pool) on a serviced pitch for £29 a night.

I recently posted on this thread, that I couldn't get a pitch on Baltic Warf for January 21. I thought the web site shoed pitches full, but was advised full and not available are the same colour. Any way it was pointed out it was my misunderstanding.

So, I waited a few days and checked again today. Guess what? You'd never believe it! its still fully booked/not available.foot-in-mouth

    Ah well!

It’s likely the bookings haven’t been released yet. Try the first Wednesday in Jan 2020, as Ro explained.👍🏻

It wouldn't be Christmas without dates.
