Powering the Future of Touring
I often think that the magazines of both Clubs often don't deal with major issues of our hobby in much depth. So it came as a pleasant surprise to see in the latest edition of the C&CC magazine a pretty in depth article over seven pages on how the future of our hobby might pan out in terms of meeting stricter environmental standards. It is more of a layman's guide rather than a technical but interesting nonetheless and goes through the possibilities. It is also quite hopeful in that the likes of electric cars will have greater towing capacity. Interesting also that Knaus have developed an ultra light Fibre Framed caravan. It did suggest that in future consumers may have to accept less well equipped caravans in order to save weight. Hydrogen was mentioned as a future fuel but it currently has little fuel supply infrastructure in place. Not sure if non-members can access it online?

I haven't read the article yet but there is no doubt the CCC magazine has been revolutionised this year. Previously it was like reading a comic but now it is the equivalent to a paid for monthly magazine. It has left the CAMC offering far far behind.

Tend to agree. It’s a shame you have to pay extra for a paper copy as I really can’t get my head around online magazines.

I agree both that the article was very interesting, it felt very balanced & encouraging while addressing the issues intelligently, and also that, having recently joined the CCC we too find their magazines much more worth reading than the advertorials which fill the C&MC glossy.
We also note that the CCC mag comes in a much more environmentally friendly wrapping than the C&MC, which really could do well to follow suit.1 -
Being a C&MC member l haven't read the article and don't intend too, was once a member of the CCC for a year and found it was not for us, when we joined we were already members of the then CC but we couldn't get in on one of the sites where we wanted to visit. The CCC at that time had vacancies at the said place, after being shown to our pitch, choice of two we were given, both naff plenty available that would have suited us better, off to bad start straight away, got worse when we had to keep pushing the shower button to keep the water flowing through the shower head plus the lights turning on off as people came and went, to top it all two folks decided pitch at the back of us, l thought l snored a little but they took the champions league for it. So l will still enjoy waiting for the so called comic coming through the door at no charge and wont be joining the CCC in the near future
