Is it a new caravan?as last year a fault with the  (as with most things these days) imported straps ,our dealer had a supply  of the modified straps in stock, we were away ,when I called about the problem, and advised me to drop the van off on our way home so they could get it under cover , it was replased in two days

Sounds as if your dealer is being a bit Tardy with their responsibility to you as your van should still be cover by the min 6yr water ingress warranty, did you buy the van new ?

Yes bought it new but the repair is not at the same dealer I lost confidence in them soon after delivery when I found they had done the PDI in name only. Faulty heating, faulty fridge, leaking window, badly fitting entrance door almost 12 months to cure faults, in fact the fridge still does not maintain when towing.

The way some dealers do PDI seems to be if things are not right the purchaser will bring it back then we can do a warranty claim on the manufacturer which will give us more moneyyell

The problem with the fridge not working all the time when travelling could well be down to the "smart" alternator on your tow car not recognising the fridge as they are designed to reduce their load when not needed, try fooling it on your next trip by driving on dipped headlights ,as that will keep the alternator n full output, if that is succesfull then your towbar fitting company  should be able to sort it
