Truma water pump issue
Hi. We have just taken delivery of our 2010 Coachman Amara 560. The water pump seems to keep running after the taps are switched off. I have made sure that all the taps are off but pump keeps running. It happens with all the taps. When I switch the pump off at the control panel and switch it back on, the pump continues to run for a few seconds and then switches off. Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi there. Thanks for your help. I am a bit of a novice so apologies if this sounds dim? I'm not sure if it is a pressurised system. I have an external pump which sits in the water barrel. The taps have a micro switch which operates the pump. Does this constitute a pressurised system? I will check my paperwork and manuals also. Thanks again for the help.

I have a 2008 Coachman Amara, i think as KeIIn suggests it is the pressure switch that needs adjusting, i think you will find this under offside front bunk to the right of the hot water tank fixed to the bulkhead, if it is the same as mine there is a little tiny grub screw on the front of the unit, switch tap on/off , try turning this anti clockwise until the pump stops, once pump as stopped, ideally this should be set so pump runs on a little bit after tap turned off so it tops up the tank, do all of this gently, unit is quite fragile and a new one will cost approx £100.

So your taps have wires to them that are connected to the 12v electrics?
That sounds like a micro switch operated system rather than a pressure operated one. Problems in such a system are usually due to the failure of one, or more of the microswitches, but in that case I would normally expect the pump to either not stop at all or not turn on at all.
If the system is indeed controlled by microswitches, the first thing I would try is to replace them all.

Hi everyone. Thanks for the replies. I have looked through the paperwork that came with the van. It looks like we do indeed have a pressurised system with a surge damper which needs to be adjusted. It looks straightforward so I'm going to give it a go this weekend. Thanks again.
