If they can hold their nerve.
If they can maintain their resolve.
If they can show that continued whole team commitment
They will be world cup winners, my son!
Oh, the tension builds. Let's hope they allow none of that 'Faffing' around!

Five foot seven of sheer dynamite. He will pose one of England's biggest threats and headaches in my opinion. Tackling him will have to be very considered, careful and low, no penalties or worse. He himself tackles brilliantly, even on the biggest lads but it is difficult for him to be penalised for high shots. He could be the undoing of England if we are not careful. maybe someone should have persuaded him to take up surfing at an early age instead of rugby, he certainly looks the part.

Faf is undoubtedly a class player and he's had a great tournament. However, he's not had flankers to deal with in the class of Messers Curry and Underhill, and that's after Mr Young has had his say.
Curry and Underhill may find that the Boks are better at the breakdown than the Blacks, so may have to work even harder and Mr Itoje will need to be careful Faf doesn't run between his legs!
Apart from that, I fully expect the boys to show the world who is truly the best team in the world.

Agreed, as a Sale player Faf is fully aware of the English game and the players he will be up against. His play will centre around the kicking game, his strength, and those tight support breaks around the set piece, I'm sure Eddie is tactically aware of this and has the answers. But tackle him hard and low boys!

Excitement's building already (well at least 50% of the house anyway!).
Eddie Jones was tasked with getting England at least to the semi finals and this they did, albeit against moderate opposition. But the way they outplayed the All Blacks last week must make them favourites to win the big prize now! I think it will be a close run thing but England to win by 5 to 10 points!

Decisions, decisions......where to watch the game tomorrow? The last time England won the Webb Ellis, I cooked a full English for all the family, followed by celebrations and many libations in the lounge. Other times, pubs, clubs, hotels and rugby establishments have all been my choice of viewing venue, but without the desired results!
Needless to say comrades......the fridge is full of breakfast and beer! Expect a victory by 20 points 👍

It's been a bit of a worrying first half hasn't it? The boys looked unusually nervous during the anthems, the loss of Synkler so early didn't help and they've made so many uncharacteristic errors. No team has won after trailing at half time - no team has beaten Australia, NZ and SA at the same world cup!
Time for Eddie to earn the big bucks! Time for history to be rewritten! Big 40 minutes coming up now!

Congratulations to South Africa - they were as brilliant this week as England were last week. Superb defensively and, to be honest, they deserved to win for those two tries alone!
It's been an excellent tournament - rugby is the winner - and please, please, resist the temptation to sell the TV rights to Sky now - the game can only benefit from the sort of exposure it's had over the past month.

No excuses....the better team won. Well done to South Africa.
I think this has been a wonderful tournament and Japan deserves much credit for staging such a spectacle, especially considering the adversities they've had to overcome.
The game of rugby is the real winner 😀

I don’t think luck had much to do with it. SA outplayed us and were the better team on the day.
Well done England on reaching the final and congrats to SA on winning.

Well, that was disappointing, but congratulations to South Africa. There was a point in the second half it looked like we might get the upper hand, but it was soon snuffed out. Bad luck England, but were beaten by the better team, no complaint.

Bit disappointed by attitude of English team, in taking off and discarding their medals. Beaten by a far better team , who did to them what they did to NZ. However the NZ team on coming third were really pleased to receive their medals, and enjoyed the moment.

I see our friends north of the border have incurred a fine of £75000 and are to apologise for their legal threats during the competition. Hopefully it will draw a line under the affair and be forgotten as quickly as the final.
Thank you again Japan for the wonderful tournament you staged, the style of rugby you played and the respect you showed the world

Just a shame that, so quickly after that brilliant tournament, English club rugby is under a cloud with Saracens being found guilty of financial skullduggery. Very impressed with the reaction by Exeter's owner but, really, do we need rugby going down the same road as football (soccer!)
