Well thats the old van booked in for a service, just wanted the chassis, brakes, gas and electric systems all checked out before I head off with it for the first time. Can i fit an also stabilising hitch to this old van??. Any tips or information welcome, Thanx

    OH says you should be able to fit a stablising hitch check for diameter take the coupling off and measure the diameter of the metal sticking from the caravan usually 50mm but check as they can vary we had an alko hitch on our 1991 castleton  2 berth single door.

    ISTR that the Alko hitch that was fitted to my previous caravan came with various split collars to allow it to be fitted to various diameter of hitch shaft. Pretty sure that they're still in my shed somewhere 😂

    Wherever you are having it serviced ought to be able to tell whether its possible. As MM says, they come with shims to accomodate different dia shafts. I replaced a standard hitch with a staliser one, on our 1993 Avondale, to avoid having to use the old 'Scott' leaf type

    Hi guys, bought the also 3004 hitch and fitted in about ten minutes, easy peasy. Thanks again for all your advice.
