Considering fitting one of these systems provided by E&P Hydraulics. Has anyone had one fitted and what are your experiences, advice and opinions.

They look fantastic..........

Does the loss of 20 kgs from the payload sit comfortably?

I had a compact system fitted to my Twin Axle Elddis. This gives lifting with the hydraulic rams and then side to side levelling. The existing corner steadys retained for front to back.

I have been very happy with my system, it makes fitting twin ALKO wheel locks a doddle and you don't need to carry a jack or levelling ramps/blocks.

If I am on a grass pitch (given that each Ram is lifting ~ 850kg) I place a small length of scaffold board under the Rams just to increase the footprint to stop any sinking.

I find that the built in levelling is not as accurate as I would like (I haven't found a decent phone app either) so I finish off using the control buttons in manual mode with a trusty old twin spirit level in the van.

I had the Rams mounted lower (one bolt hole) than they should be, this gives more lift but you need to be careful with ground clearance when travelling.

anecdote:- I was on a CL site last month, levelled with both the RH side wheels dangling 6" off the ground, it looked weird but my drains emptied really quickly!!

All in all it suits me very well and I would recommend the system.

I am thinking of getting one fitted on my next caravan, that's if I don't buy a caravan that has them already fitted.

Thank you for your very comprehensive and helpful reply. I was considering getting the Compact system because at least having the original corner steadies I could use them in the event of the system failing to deploy. That option is not available with the Complete system due to corner steadies not having a manual way of deploying them.

My neighbour had them fitted and he was very happy with them. He had the full system. Ill health has caused him to sell the caravan. I advertised and organised the sale and I suspect that in his case it might have reduced the number of likely buyers.

An excellent bit of kit they seemed though if you have the payload and the need.

I have the full system and I’m still very happy with it ( (fitted 2015)

I save some weight  allowance as I don’t need to carry a steady winder or jack.

I also think it saves stress on both the tyres and axle when parked up.

I have the E&P system on my motorhome, absolutely excellent, can't recommend them enough.

I notice that Swift will up-rate a new caravan's max weight if asked before taking delivery. So would be useful to do that if thinking of fitting one of these on a new caravan.

It depends as i said on the lie of the land,no disaster,  but have been glad we still carry ramp,as it is not unusual, this site is on quite a slope and to make all the hardstands completely level side to side would make for some very high ramps off the access roads

But some of us would never choose to go to a CAMC site.  We use CL sites only in the UK and always in out of the way places.  In France we choose deeply rural and usually almost empty sites.  In both cases we need levelling in many instances.

My neighbour had his fitted due to mobility problems.

I find that on the majority of sites whether CC or C&CC or other that the need for me to level is rare other than with the Jockey wheel. Usually 1 in 20 sites. This year two.

The most that I have had to level side to side in the last 14 years was probably 6.5'' on a pitch at Sandringham.

Definitely going to get one in the new caravan. Just one button and it's all done in minutes, rather than doing it in the rain like just now. Weight won't be a problem as the extra up plate will take care of it and more. Expensive? Nah worth every penny.

I’m all for making life easy but you might need to change your name, Corners, although 'Hydraulic Levelling System' doesn’t have quite the same ring to it. 😄
