Just a heads up to those who may be thinking of changing to a motorhome or just changing motorhomes. With this months edition of the Motorhome Monthly Magazine comes a supplement called "The Essential Guide to 2020 Motorhomes and Campervans. This basically lists many new motorhomes  and might be a useful guide to what is currently on the market.

Not that I intend buying a new van, but like to keep up, Thanks Dave.

My favourite is 'Steam Railway'   thanks to the anonymous  member who left several copies at Exmoor House. Gratefully 'recycled'.  I left several Practical Motorhomes as a swap.

Grrrrr, David you didn't say that the Issue you  are talking about is the NOVEMBER Issue  tongue-out!! (  Pretty sure I'm right about that  !)

Went shopping in ASDA this afternoon  but no MMM on display, so I walked ( !! ) a bit further into W H Smiths and only one copy there and that was October. So, with a giggle or three and a chat, the counter staff said  Oh No November's issue is published tomorrow, so the earliest we'll see it in this old town is likely to be Friday or Saturday.

Oh dear, more exercise for Brian I'm afraid frown

It's not just Fred Dibnah, Rocky mate surprised. Sitting here in the Office ( spare bedroom ) I've  got several ( 18 or 20 ) CF cards for the recent digital piccys  and something in excess of 64,000 ( yes sixty four thousand wink )  mounted slides !! They keep me busy and off the streets in winter  I can assure you laughing.

I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but I think a lot of the current crop of available new motorhomes are still using the older engines which continue to be treated as light goods vehicles without emission listed on the CofC so probably the next six months might be a good time to buy? It seems that it's only those motorhomes using the new ultra clean diesel engines are going to have their VED based on emissions which in itself seems to be a bit ridiculous!!!

I have not seen a discussion on his forum, but he MMM mhome forum has a thread on the new tax regime for Motorhomes and cars costing over £40 thousand pounds.

Seems to be a hit and miss problem with working out what your tax could be, because it lies with the issue of the V5 and the co2 emissions quoted ( or not), The v5 is not issued until the purchase is completed.

Could cause a few headaches for those on a budget.

    Tony

There are a couple of threads about it in the Motorhome section but it hasn't caused much excitement! The petition seems to be gathering a bit of momentum with a recent spurt to 13449 signatures as I type. Just in case members wish to support the petition the link to it is here

Talking of steam, have you visited the Thursford Collection in Norfolk, Brian?

We caught it just before the Autumn closure and it’s a grand day out.

With Profuse Apologies TW,  embarassed !

Sorry for the appalling time delay in responding, TW, But Yes, Brians been there several times -- they have a good weekend rally with loads of visiting engines on display not just their own.smile  Like most Steam Rallies there will be cars, motorcycles, pedal cycles and a few Vintage Caravans ( most likely a few vintage caravanners as well )  on display
