2015 Bailey Valencia - need help
I'm a total lone female newbie to caravans, my ex having done everything to do with the caravan. Got the van on Saturday. Son helped me with advice on towing, unhitched me at campsite and then left me to it.
The salesman told me the first thing to do was push the yellow lever down under the berth near the sink. I then filled the aquaroll and heard the pump working when I switched it on on the control panel by the door.
I left time for water to fill the tank and noted it was nearly empty, so water was going somewhere. I opened the sink tap and there was a splutter. I opened the washroom and shower taps, ditto. Then nothing.
I kept the taps open and swivelled them round hot to cold but nothing - no water coming out. I closed the taps and opened them again, no luck. I you tubed, googled and consulted the Bailey manual without luck.
The heating was fine and as it was only an overnight stay, I filled a 5 litre water container for my needs. I kept trying the taps throughout the evening without success.
One thing I didn't do was to put the gas on as I as on electric hook up and didn't plan on doing any cooking. Does the Alde system need to run on gas?
I phoned the dealership when I got home but they seemed puzzled asking me things like is there another water tank somewhere. They suggested I ring them when on site again.
I find this all frustrating and maybe in my mid sixties I shouldn't be taking this on on my own, but I enjoyed my 10 years of caravanning so much I wanted to recreate it.
Is there something I didn't do i.e. put the gas on etc? What am I doing wrong? Any help appreciated.

Hi Smurf.
If the pump has come into action and you could hear it whirring in the aquaroll, then it's definitely on although that's the sort of thing I'd expect when the pump is off. Sorry I can't help but I do hope you sort out the problem as, from experience, I know it can be traumatic doing this on your own. Best of luck and stick with it.
I've removed your duplicate thread from the Introductions Section.

You don't meed gas to run the heating on the Alde. You select on the control panel whether you want gas, electric or both. On EHU I would use Electric only.
If the aquaroll was empty the water has gone somewhere. If your pump was running maybe the drain from hot water tank (yellow lever that you mentioned) was not properly closed.
It is possible that when you switch lever down to close the drain that it does not seal due to a bit of swarf or grit under its seating. Usually if this happens then making sure the aquaroll is full and that the inlet hose is connected and pump on then opening the drain for a second or two will flush the problem away and when you close the valve all is well.
If you asked on site I am sure somebody would help.

It sounds like you may have opened the yellow lever instead of closing it. Try pushing it the other way and see what happens. Another problem I had with the water pump. When I took the barrel away to fill it up the pump continued working and by the time I returned with the full water barrel the pump had burned out. A trip to the dealer revealed that before removing the barrel you should turn off the pump at the control panel. You should then disconnect the pump from the caravan. When returning with the full barrel place the end of the pump into the barrel first before reconnecting the to the caravan. Leaving the pump connected to the caravan then re-immersing the pump end into the barrel apparently causes an air lock in the pump. It cost me £80 to replace the water pump. None of these things are explained in the handbook.

Next time you are on site connect the aqua roll by inserting the pump into the aqua roll first the push the pump into its housing switch on pump on control panel ,open the taps first on cold if no water appears in a couple of minutes have a quick look under van to see if water is is running from area of yellow valve, if so it means either the valve is in the wrong position or it is not seating correctly,

The yellow lever is likely to be the drain tap for the water system: lift the lever to drain, down to close, so you want it to be down when using the 'van. Lift it to drain the system prior to storage for winter..
The Bailey manual with the 'van will tell you all you need to know about the water system, including, as someone suggested, whether there is an on-board tank and, if so, how to fill it. If there is an on-board tank, it needs to be drained before you tow.
