Does anyone know where is a good place to park our motorhome in Kendal so we can go shopping we’re staying on a site about 40 minutes away but public transport is nonexistent to Kendal

Have a look at the CamperContact and Search for Sites websites (always good starting points)  and see what they say about day or night parking at Kendal Cricket Club and whether that is suitable for you.

We live near Kendal, but rarely go into town. The link below lists all the carparks, and I don't think any of them will be suitable. I can't remember ever having seen a motorhome parked up. Many spaces are rather narrow.

But, Sainsburys and Morrisons (just out of town on the A6 have large car parks. And Sainsburys is maybe the best bet. But you could always contact them - I don't know of any restrictions. Asda on the A65 is usually fuller.

Googling a map will show you where they are.

    Part 2

Public transport - trains from most mainline stations come to Oxenholme, (2 miles away) and there are regular buses from there into town. Or even the branch line to Kendal

It's not the height restrictions (only one is "inside")- but access and size of bays that may be the issue.

Kendal cricket club on A6 Shap Road, £5 all day for motorhomes, right in the middle of the action (such as it is!) . If you just need a supermarket then Morrison's and Sainsburys are both on this road a little further out of the town, and both are easy for motorhomes, but are for use whilst in the supermarket, not for all day in Kendal.

Agree but generally you can google maps and see what access is like and once there get 2 bays if too long and pay for both if required.
