Especially as the future of refillable gas bottles and tanks was discussed not long ago. That’s one reason the sticky thread of filling places was started.

I have no idea regarding LPG availability in the rest of Europe. I do seem to see less fill points on UK garage forecourts though

    Hi DD

Where in France are you because just done a month there for August but only in the south and in that time filled up twice (BBQ) and found garages with LPG quite easily but like you say very expensive but that is France in general now a days, here in Spain it seems to be bucking the trend to the rest of Europe. A lot of Repsol petrol stations are having a refit which usually includes new cages for LPG there are four that I can think of near me, the price varies from 69c to 72c a litre so cheap still.

Not noticed any at any of our supermarket top ups. However, every service station we have passed on the Autoroute has had it listed at 98 / 99 cents a litre. Therefore if we need to replenish our tanks it would be easy enough to do it there.

l have a underslung LPG tank came with the MH, their are only two places for me to fill up both about 8 mile way, l have the Shell app can't seem to find stations on it that have LPG, we use very little gas so not to bothered, will keep it topped up if l see one when l fill up with diesel. l was told most people that travel a broad convert to LPG as its readily available and cheaper, no Calor on the continent l was told, have l been misinformed, won't bother us no intentions of going to europe, quite happy here, loads of fantastic places to visit in this green and pleasant land.

Lived in Spain for 14 years until 2 years ago. In garage forecourts there is always Cepsa silver lighter bottles or Repsol heavy steel. Lpg bulk was difficult although Malaga city had a couple of places. If stuck and you need to buy a bottle say it is for a portable gas heater you have just brought otherwise you need a gas test certificate. Particularly in the countryside and villages everyone uses portable gas bottles 12 .5kg

Don’t know about France but certainly in Spain this year we had no problem. Filled up our refillable bottles 3 times with no panic or rerouting to get some, A’s has been said a lot of repsol garages have lpg.

the price in France doesn’t surprise me either just look at the price of fuel in general!

there is a Countrywide outlet 2 miles from home, but i dont know the price as i tend to use either the Esso station at Podimore or the Shell one (at leat 10p/ltr dearer) at Sparkford.

LPG still seems very widely available in France but, as mentioned, the price has risen a fair bit.

our experiences in Spain are similar in that getting LPG is no problem at all, although i have taken to using a Repsol 11kg in my 2nd bottle slot as they are very cheap, widely available, even on sites, and allow you to keep gassed up without going to the pump when on a long stay site.

used it for good while here on our spring return and will exchange again when we go after new year.

seems to work and gives us a bit of flexibility in supply.

Had to fill up my safefill this morning so if your in North Norfolk I can thoroughly recommend South Raynham Service Station, Swaffham Road, NR21 7HN.  It’s about 5 miles South of Fakenham

    Lovely ladies very helpful
