Hi all,

I will be putting my twin axle on axle stands soon for the period to new year.

My question is, do I need 4 stands or will two be OK?

Cheers......

If I was doing this, I would have thought 2 will do the job as long as they were placed centrally between each axle on both sides and a piece of 4x2 used to spread the load between both  axles and the stand on each side.

why, dealers don't do this to all there stock and they can sit there for 12 months or more without moving. Never done it on my twin.

I can fully understand that you may wish to remove the wheels to preserve the tyre life by storing them appropriately. If this is the case, and assuming you can make the caravan secure, I would jack both axles since each has its own load rating which probably won't be the full weight of the van. If you don't have 4 axle stands, you could improvise with heavy wooden blocks on one axle.

Probably worth checking with the manufacturer for the load rating of each axle.
