The One Show
Apparently Frank Skinner (a guest on the show) has admitted that the show's theme racket sets his teeth on edge!
Frank, you are not alone in this - every time I hear it the off switch, for the telly, is immediately thumped.
How on earth did BBC manage to pick that cacophony in the first place?
Does any one else feel this way about that discordant noise?

No but I do about the program itself these days.

Waaan, Waaan, Waaan. For that very reason, I rarely watch.

When the One Show started it was very good with informative journalism, however, now all it appears to be is a half hour slot for so called celebrities to advertise their own shows, albums, films, and if they these people are advertising their own, the Beeb do not need to pay them.

I completely agree, Richard. It’s changed from having interesting factual reports into a platform for screeching celebrities to promote their wares.
We now have the news sandwiched between two similar programs. Gee, I must be getting old and grumpy😀

I agree with Richard and TW. As most know I rarely watch TV. OH usually switches TV on around 6 or 6.30pm. I am usually preparing a meal as generally our evening meal is 6.30pm. Sound goes off whilst we eat. However on an odd occasion we eat later. Very rarely I have sat after a meal at 7pm in the same room as the TV. I do recall seeing a couple of early episodes of The One Show and finding them quite interesting. I have seen the odd 5 mins after our evening meal when we have dined later. It does seem to be no more than a celebs floor show these days.

I usually watch the first five minutes of the show each night and then decide whether to carry or or go out and sort out the dishes! (Margaret by then usually wants to turn over to Emmerdale) Some of the guests are interesting but many not. It does seem to be used as a show to promote other shows and not just BBC ones. I find it really annoying that they promote shows on the likes of Sky and Netflix subscription services which I am sure many viewers of the One Show don't have. I also prefer regular presenters rather than the hotch potch they seem to use now.

Matt Baker is wasted on this show now. It’s dragging him down.

I watched two minutes of it tonight..! I've never found it an entertaining programme but sometimes catch a glimpse of it. I would think Sky and Netflix are highly popular amongst the nation so I'm not sure who is watching what but the figures state around 5 million tune in to this programme. (Strictly has 7-8 million viewers.)
