Eldiss Group Quality
We had a 2013 Xplore (Eldiss) which in spite of the ten year water ingress guarantee leaked in three places after eighteen months. I am wondering if anyone has noticed an improvement to Eldiss quality now that they are owned by the Erwin Hymer Group.
I would be interested to know of other people's experience as a replacement Xplore is the only van which ticks our boxes with regard to size and specification.
I would rather buy a German van but there is nothing of the right spec for us available.

Q, which model (of only 4) do you have...it wont be the bunk version and the others dont look like 'unique' layouts. id wager many brands, including continental, would produce similar ones.
as an example, Adria are Slovenian but give German quality in uk type layouts (now with cookers etc) at mid range prices.

The one we are after is the Xplore 422 which is the good old layout of large front parallel seating/double bed with centre kitchen and end bathroom. It is one of the few models to come without a microwave which, for us, is even better. All just under the 6 metre shipping length with a decent payload which can be uprated by a further 101kg.
Thanks for the reminder about Adria. I suspect that they don't offer a 2 berth but I will check.

I too have an Eldiss ,a 2017 model ,just had second service and dry as a bone. as with most manufacturers newer models are constructed using bonded methods which reduces water ingress {or should}
I have in the past , as with most caravaners. experienced water ingress with models from Abi , Bailey, Swift, and Sprite ,it is inconvenient to have to travel to a suppling dealer for repairs which in one case took months, I would encourage all members to carry out regular checks and have their van damp checked annually.
I am sure you will find a suitable replacement, but have a good look at all available models and manufacturers, not too far from home ,good luck with your search.

I have a 2016 Marquis Majestic(Elddis dealer model) MH. It is currently back for damp issues with the floor which have emerged since the 2018 habitation check. I has a GRP skin on the underside, so you tell me how water gets in!!

Have you got a gas locker with vent holes in the floor, CY? That’s a prime candidate. There are also bound to be weak points where the body is fixed to the chassis and there will be a seam of some sort where the floor meets the sides. Even monocoque models suffered water ingress where the windows were fitted.

Our Eldiss Xplore was the bonded Solid construction and leaked like a sieve. I have just got home from the dealer and he told me he has just finished replacing the rear panel on my van which he took back from us in 2016. The front and rear panel have only a twelve month guarantee and the dealer told me they are a disaster. He has now given up on Eldiss and all UK marques in favour of Knaus, T@b and Adria.
Thanks to Boleroboy - Adria do indeed make the layout we like in an Altea model. Full spec to announced shortly but looks as if it would work for us.

I have a Elddis 196 just over 2 year old. On holiday in August we noticed water dripping in from the sky light. On inspection it was the frame round the heki sky light which was cracked. Going to be fixed under warranty as there have been similar problems with both caravan & motorhome heki frames cracking.......seemingly something to do with the Solid construction that’s too solid and vibrations can cause the frame to crack 🤦♂️.
Due to this fault Elddis want the motorhome checked for water ingress. I was gobsmacked when I was told the area around the heki frame was okay but there were water ingress to the rear gas locker area and the front battery box area.
My motorhome is the new Solid construction. Not happy that a vehicle just over 2 years has water ingress but to be fair Elddis and my dealer have been excellent at responding to my problem and all being fixed under warranty.
Just one issue is the time it takes to get the parts to complete the repair.
