Alarming problem

I’ve lived around, worked with & for. . .’them’ with no issues. Perhaps your negative attitude is the issue🤷🏻♂️🤔

They do tend to live up to their reputation though. They descended onto a local field last year by cutting through a chained up gate, they stayed a week or so leaving behind soiled nappies etc & several tons of hard core .... presumably when they'd resurfaced a handful of local driveways. You & I pay for it when the local council then has to clear up after them.

Some folk verbally put down a whole community because of a few bad apples. Me?, I judge as I find. Motorhomers, are they all freeloading littering polluters?, caravanners are they all slow, snobby miserable old folk?. Judge as you find, there are good & bad in all walks of life, one size never fits all👍🏻

The Club could get a court injunction stopping such invasion. Tredegar House used to have this problem, but the National Trust, sorted out such with I believe court injunction that comes into operation if there is an invasion? Probably a bit of "work" to be done, but surely the club has a legal team?
Was on a site in France a few years ago. Police were called, and physically removed the "travellers" escorting them off site and out of area.
I believe there's a "law" forbidding such behaviour in Eire/Southern Ireland!!

Out of interest....as we are booked into this site in a couple of weeks...I rang the site warden yesterday to get a 'hands on' opinion.
That is the gist of a long explanation given by a very delightful lady....
The warden explained that a barrier card had been issued to one person...but quickly revoked when it became apparent who they were. The police advised the staff not to provoke. The warden called the bailiff (not sure if this is a club 'built in' stand by procedure) who attended and asked them to leave otherwise they would be towed off site...They didn't leave that night but the next morning..
Once again this gives an insight to the excellent work undertaken by the Clubs wardens..... often under very stressful conditions.

"Was on a site in France a few years ago. Police were called, and physically removed the "travellers" escorting them off site and out of area."
its not only their electric which is different
i assume all cases there arenequivalent to our 'aggravated trespass' and therefore becomes a criminal violation, hence the Gendarmerie not messing about.

"They didn't leave that night but the next morning.."
part of a promotional offer....free site night, perhaps?

We have just returned from a four night stop at Hunters Moon. There were eight large twin axle travellers caravans on site. Two uniformed security gents walking about the site for most of the day, they were based in a caravan on site.
Many fellow campers were expressing regrets upon visiting this site.
I for one shall not return.

Bet that's not mentioned in the club's blurb about the site! Are you going to post a review stating what you've found there?

The nearby commercial site is far better, in my opinion, and I believe the other one up the road is as well.

sure it's just not fancy dress. or could be some role play theme holiday?
Well while I share your concerns one way of looking at it I suppose is that if the club has put them there then its been proactive and looking after member's interests? Must be one of the safest sites around with that sort of 24 hour protection?

At least it’s not left to the wardens to keep the site safe. 👍🏻

Security firm guards are very expensive to be used on sites with "traveller ?" problems, hence it has been more economical to install add barriers at Ferry Meadows, the down side being there is no longer any LNA,and to gain access arrivals have to use a speaker phone to the office and if not a booked arrival the site staff will attend the add barrier and "question" the arrival

My brother told me their is a travellers site down the road from Hunters Moon seems its common Knowledge, only came to light when l told him l was thinking of visiting, soon put paid to that. Those that would rather placate them see the posts of how many have had their vans stolen, a friends of ours answered the door to them selling the usual briker brak, bought some things from them, feeling she had done a good deed, wasn't until the next day she found ornamental pots had gone missing. Obviously she couldn't be sure it was them, my bug with them is that they have no concern for the law an just take what they believe they are entitled to. l will give any site a wide berth from them if no action is taken by the club. Thankfully the wardens new how to deal with the situation at Bridlington but l felt sorry for those that had to move pitch and those that left.

It is common knowledge, Heathers, and quite apparent to anyone driving along the road by the site.
The scrapyard next door to HM puts me off staying there.

When we were on Sandringham site last month there was a travellers family "members" on and had paid cash for their two week stay, they seemed ok ,but as both clubs are tenants of HM, if they had had a problem the some of the estates armed police would as in the past soon be round,
they left before their two weeks stay had expired (did not ask for refund)which was good as it took the site staff a day and a bit to clear the rubbish including a big flat screen tv that had been dumped in the woodland behind the pitch they had occupied

Really JV?🤔, if a paying guest created a ‘problem’ armed Police would ‘soon be round’, I doubt they’d waste the time of armed Police. Are you getting mixed up with a rerun of Kojak or Miami vice maybe?🤔

An easy to block long access road, ANPR controlled barriers, staff accommodation in vans near the entrance and many, many more staff than HM but not a firearm in sight.😀
Oh, yes, there is a downside to having all those staff, the ANPR system and securing the site - it’s higher pitch fees.
