Hope this is helpful for fellow club members above who are having problems removing their screw pegs

I have problems with my knees so I made up this removal tool to save any bending

The handle and shaft are from a garden edging tool and the business end is from a broken garden hoe

If required I use a wooden block under the tool to increase leverage when I make Mk2 I will increase the size of the fork

The tool is also useful to fish the power cable from under the caravan

I will publish pictures after I work out how to reduce their size

I bought some screw pegs some ten years ago and tried without success to use them with a hammer drill. I used a hammer to some and bent them !. This year, as my kness are now getting on a bit, I bought an inexpensive impact driver and resurrected the screw pegs. I am very pleased with the results abd at six different sites  have not found it necessary to resort to my hammer at all. I find the best way is to lean hard on the driver whilst putting the pegs in vertically.  The pegs that were bent with the hammer have been written off as the "out of true" causes them to have a mind of their own. Removal is a simple screw out.

I have been to Toolstation and purchased M10 200mm coach screws to replace the screwpegs ruined by hammering them in. The hex bolt head is 17mm and the thread will not pass through the peg head. The correct size is M8 200mm with a 13mm hex head. Thought this might be helpful.

    Back to Toolstation tomorrow !!!

M8 or M10 coach bolts with penny washers are much better than standard pegs. Some have sharp points and some are rather blunt. Choose the sharp ones (Wicks are good). A tap with a hammer may be needed to start. In extreme cases carry a 4mm masonry drill. Better still use a grass pitch.
