Acrylic windows
Anybody any ideas on how to prevent my awning from scuffing the window on my motorhome please.

Whilst it will work stopping the fretting it has also been know to cause a far more expensive issue, one unlike scuffing that can't be remedied without buying replacement windows.
Cling films can contain plasticisers, chemicals, that leach into the micro structure of the acrylic and then some months later break all the bonds where there are moulded in stresses. The result a silver glittering rash of these micro fractures, reflecting the light. Once done, that is it.
You need to know exactly what product you are going to put on these acrylic windows.
Keeping the awning edge, and the window, spotlessly clean helps reduce fretting marks, but in the end these fretting marks are not fatal, they can be polished out. Again only ever polish with products blended specifically for use on acrylic, or that could easily cause the same micro crazing discussed above. Using metal polishes and real glass cleaners/polishes is asking for trouble
