You need to read the renewal notice when it arrives. If it says you must notify any insurance claims or losses without mentioning cars then you should declare it, if it simply relates to motoring losses no need. I doubt it would affect your premium for the car but do not know which motor insurer you have.

If the claimant address is recorded on a national data base listed under the post code then it could. The data base is in the custody of the insurers and insurers operate in all sectors. They will use the data for their benefit.
Look at the worst case scenario from the insurers point of view (I know), if a serial claimer is to be spotted the insurers may avoid them that way.
It would be unfair of coarse but that wouldn't stop them doing it.

For me it worked the other way round. Our caravan was burnt to the ground by thieves. My insurer, Caravan Guard was happy for me to insure my replacement with them, although their strict rule about storing the caravan with an axle lock was not practicable on my storage site. On shopping around many insurers would no even give me a quote when they heard of my recent claim. However my car insurer (LV) were happy to give me a reasonable quote on the basis that I had not had a claim on my car insurance.
