Had a 134bhp 2WD manual version for six years, towing 1350Kg. Got around 32mpg. Good steady tow car, although, as has been said, the boot isn't massive but adequate.

We have a 2014 148bhp Kuga and tow a 2010 challenger 570. We have driven throughout the UK and through France and Spain with no problems. Does struggle a little on long uphill stretches but otherwise has been very good. When we come to changing it we will likely buy the 180bhp automatic for the extra oomph.

I had a new 2014 Kuga with the 163 bhp engine and was disappointed with it pulling our 1450kg Bailey. It did do it OK but I did expect more after I had moved up from a 130bhp Mondeo.
We got rid (really good Ford offer) after 9 months and got the 180bhp 2015 Kuga which is a different beast altogether and will pull all day at 60 mph up hill and down dale. It's been as far as Venice and into/over the Alps several times and never missed a beat.

Ive had my Kuga for 9 yearsTowed all over UK and France, never had a problem with it. Im looking to change it now, will replace with another Kuga. Its the best tow car I have had in 40 years of caravaning.

I have got a 2015150ps Titanium 2 wheel drive, and it is great. Been towing since 1965 and it is the best car I have had. Travel all over UK and Europe with about 30mpg average towing a Bailey Unicorn Seville. It never misses a beat on the flat or up hills. Comfortable too, although the boot is a bit small you can pack a lot in it.

Just looked at the new hybrid Kuga on Ford website. 1200kg towing limit, so 2.0 diesel with 48v has a bigger towing limit. Another new hybrid car off the shopping list, the list grows.

At least 1200Kg limit is a little more realistic, even if somewhat limiting in choice of vans.

I have an 2014 163bhp four wheel drive Kuga.It has towed all over France and UK with no issues. This is with towing a 1500kg Coachman.Yes the boot is small but I do fold the rear seats down as payload of van is so poor.
My only advice would be go for the 4x4 version.Especially if you rally or use CL's ect

I have a 180bhp 4wd. it's a great tow car. It's 2015 and has now done 61000 miles. I can get 32mpg towing if I keep around 58mph on the cruise control. There's a new model coming out next year so you may get a good deal on the current model or decide to wait and get the latest.

Same one as us Freddy55, OH loves it.
We always fold the rear seats down, can't say that we find it small. Plenty of room for chairs, BBQ, tool box, twin tub washer, freezer box, 2 x food boxes, awning and canopy + lots of other bits and pieces.

We swapped our Tiggy for a 180ps Kuga Vignale 2 ltr 4x4, what a tow car wonderful will tow all day long with trouble. Had it solo in the snow the other day and it felt sure footed on snow and uncleared roads. It will do for us great tow car.
