Can I check whether a caravan is stolen?

Can anybody tell me if there is anyway I can check if a caravan I'm about to purchase has been stolen.

    The UKCampsite website has a stolen caravan database but I somehow doubt it would be completely comprehensive. Is the caravan CRIS registered as that might be another avenue to explore. If you are at all suspicious that the caravan in question might be stolen the best thing would be to stay away from it. Any genuine seller should have details of the original purchase details.

    I do not think there is a totally reliable database but you check with CRIS and HPI. If buying privately then make sure the seller has good proof of ownership and service documents. If these are not available then walk away.
