Have just read that the above are introducing a self charging lift up roof camper  based on the Ford Transit Custom with a 1ltr petrol engine as a range extender with all wheels powered with electric motors giving it a 500 mile range

    Think that is Dethleffs,  sounds good but probably prohibitively expensive at the moment.?  Fiat are promising a fully electric Ducato van for 2020, the range between charges will be crucial, and of course the cost.

    500 mile range ? you would have to drive like a saint

    Maybe it has only a small fuel tank for range extender ,there is a Mitsubishi phev on site and towing it is doing 55mpg and the owner admits he is not "light footed"
