Long term problem with a Dometic oven
Since purchasing a brand new Swift Elegance 530 (Dec 17) , the Dometic oven has had a strong tendency for the flames to go out after a minute or two of being lit. We first suspected the flame failure device - its fine. The burner has been changed and now the caravan reducer has been changed. I am using Flogas bottles - propane. I have 3 of them (2*5kg and 1*10kg) and the behaviour is the same on all bottles and further it doesn't matter whether the bottles are full or close to empty. I have now noticed and recorded that the flames on one side of the burner become very unstable shortly after they are lit. The instability gets worse until (usually) the flame failure device 'thinks' there is a flame failure and cuts the gas supply. - unless the oven door is opened. If the oven door is opened the flames stabilise again. And after shutting the door again, the flames will become unstable again.
I have recorded 3 short videos showing this behaviour. One, looking through the lower vent at the bottom of the oven, so visibility is very restricted. The other two are recorded with the internal oven bottom plate removed, exposing the burner. The flame instability is much clearer here.
The oven should work with propane (according to the manual. The other burners, hob and grill, are fine.
Has anyone seen anything like this? My dealer hasn't a clue what is going on and Dometic are now referring this back to the oven manufacturer.

Sounds as if there is not enough air available entering the oven to sustain the flame. When oven door opens more air and oxygen available and burns OK for a while you say. A bit like putting a bell jar over a candle. Once oxygen depletes the flame gutters and then extinguishes.

Have you checked to see if the air vent into the locker under the oven is blocked, ie covered by something such as pans etc if they are stored there? This has happened to us before and by clearing the air vent the oven worked fine.

Thanks for your comments. Dometic have agreed to change the oven, so hopefully this should solve the problem!
