There used to be 2 factions in our school during my teens. one that adored Motown and the Others that didn't. I was part of the Others (as usual), a fully paid up member of the head banging brigade but I liked Marvin Gaye, a secret I kept from the M gang.

We had some sort of agreement at home, Dad could play Gilbert and Sullivan and Glorious Devon to his hearts content as long as we could play Martha and the Vandellas and the Beatles etc. I can still recall those immortal parental words of my youth "turn it down." wink

TSOP, memories of a concert in Harrogate with Billy Paul, fantastic. Levi 501 sat in the bath shrinking them. Scarborough in the sea giving them a bit of fade.good times.
