Sandringham Mobile Phone Reception
We are going to Sandringham and have just read a review talking about terrible phone signal, which I wasn’t aware of.
Anyone else have a knowledge of signal quality on the site ?

we had a brief stop there late July, we didn't have any problems with our mobiles for calls and data, we're on EE. You could always ring the wardens and ask. Have a great time, the site does slope a little so you may need to level if that bothers you, otherwise a very lovely site.

I was there about 5 years ago for 7 nights (should have been 5 nights but was waiting on a car part and garage). I made at least 10 calls out to breakdown, hospital, garage, taxis, daughter etc. Also received calls fine. Also as CS using EE network. Was there earlier this year and doubt that I made calls but will have received them and also used EE for some internet

February this year we was on a pitch up the middle just a few skips from reception. Huge left to right wonky ness.
On three network, no problems at all, and we streamed the telly too.
I suspect it's the pitches closer to the trees that will struggle. Google earth it and you will see what I mean.
Very nice fish and chips from the van and there is a very nice ASDA not too far away, spend all of your holiday money there 👍🛒

That is where we were 5 years ago and had no real problem with the phone but might have gone to van door for better reception during a call rather than inside; I don't recall though beyond the fact that I was quite able to receive and make calls there

Norfolk is notoriously bad for reception. Use the offcom app or their website for mobile and broadband availability checker. Just type in postcode or use your location and up pops the results of the 4 mobile networks. Sandringham site is PE35 6EZ showing O2 the best and EE the worst for reception.

Indeed I often used to go off walking in my own early in the morning several days a week after I retired. Usually a two hour walk and home by 8.30. Always took a phone for that reason. I was very glad of it when, after 8 miles partly along the River Dee the heavens opened and I was completely soaked and 2 miles from home. I was very glad to be able to phone OH to pick me up! It is no fun walking when wet to your undies

Off topic slightly but do all the different mobile companies use different masts? Or do they share?

I’m not certain, Corners, but I think they share the actual masts and each operator fits their own aerial gizmos to them if they choose to. I have a feeling there were planning constraints imposed on the siting of additional masts where one or more already existed.

Ok thanks. Yes I remember that if you dial 999 or 112 then it goes to any network?
