Pup tents

Hello all, can anyone advise please if there is a standard protocol with regard pup tents within your pitch boundary.  Are they allowed? Are they only allowed if the site accepts tents? Are they not allowed at all?

We have a grass pitch booked at Gt Yarmouth and now son and grand daughter want to come with us. Grand daughter is quite happy in the caravan but son prefers to sleep in a tent. We can always put the awning up and put a inner tent up for him I suppose.  But I just wondered if there is any rules regarding pups.

Some sites allow them, some don't. Best advice ( and quickest way to get an answer) iso to ring the site direct. smile

Great advice given by M, the official rule is:

    5. Using awnings or tents
    a. On pitches with awning space you can erect an awning. You may also put up a tent for extra sleeping accommodation, or a specially designed toilet or cooking tent, provided the main outfit is occupied, but please keep them within your pitch area.

So looks like just on awning pitches? Spacing will also come into it and it's not always allowed so best thing is to follow M's advice.

We used a pop up inner tent just recently in the awning, much easier than fixing an inner tent to the frame and fold up into a 40cm flattish circle , they are on sale now at Aldi for under £20.

PS I have no connection with Aldismile

Thanks to you all, think we will take our porch awning and put the pup up at the back of the awning. Or if weather is looking favourable just put up the sun canopy That way it will all be in the space of a full awning.

Last year our son and DIL had a pup tent on our pitch for 2 nights at the Yarmouth site. We had a great time, hope you do too.
