Corner steady dropped
Hi all,
This weekend we went to put the corner steady down (front passenger side). The winder struggled to fit around the nut and when we looked it looks like the steady has dropped, or the trim has gone upwards. I've attached a photo, if anyone has any ideas on what might have happened. There's no obvious signs underneath that it has dropped, just a bit odd.
Thanks in advance

Firstly the I'm sure the title of your thread will have many people feeling happy but the rumours of my demise...
Can you still use the winder? and can you push the steady upwards/downwards or if it fixed like that?
I'm sure others will be along to give a better answer, but a mobile engineer might be able to help if you're away?

If the steady had been overloaded, it would be distorted in the other direction. Is there any evidence of chassis flexing caused by sideways movement of the van whilst the steady was down?

I must confess that at first glance I though that here had been a mortality amongst our regular contributors. Pleased to see that it was actually a technical question which others have answered.

Thanks for all your replies and sorry for causing confusion with the title, didn't realise!
We managed to put the steady back up by using the manual winder (rather than the drill attachment) to tow home. When this rain stops we're going to get a good look underneath and get a mobile engineer out if there's nothing obviously loose. Many thanks
