I understand there's a footpath from the campsite to Leeds Castle. Has anyone tried this route and can give me information about it?

If the footpath is unsuitable, is there any public transport from the campsite to the Caste?

You could phone the site and ask.

Some reviews on UKCampsite give clues -  one says they didn't fancy walking alongside the main A20 road so called a cab. But as Peedee says, talk to the wardens about it, they will know.

According to Google Earth it is about two miles, most but not all along the A20 which in places has footpath but for some of the route it seems just to be a grass verge. You could always check with Leeds Castle as to whether you could park your motorhome there in the car park.

    Thanks everyone.

I did think about asking the staff at Bearsted but have had a couple of instances on other sites  when staff have had no idea about the local area.......

Checking with Leeds Castle  about the parking sounds a good plan ~ especially as my motorhome doesn't fit under height barriers!

There is no problem with motorhome parking at the castle ,or the bus stops outside the site and at the castle

show your club card at the castle and you should get 10% discount

    Thanks.

I prefer to use public transport, or walk, once I've pitched up so the bus sounds good (and the discount too).
