Hydraulic levelling

We had to sell our caravan last year and we spent a long time considering a motorhome before realising it would never work for us.  We have now decided to buy an Eriba for several reasons.  The one thing we will need, which is expensive, is an automated hydraulic levelling system.  The advantage of the Eriba is that its generous payload allows for the extra weight.  I know that several people may be tempted to suggest that we use an electric drill for the corner steadies and so on.  In fact we have done that for years but, if we are to use the van, we now need an automated system.

Can anyone recommend a good system, preferably one that can be fitted somewhere in the Sout West?

E & P are probably the most popular but as you say expensive. you can get just the side to side bit and then use the jockey wheel for for and aft levelling.

Interesting but not quite the point.  We would need the complete system. Thanks.

    Q. You puzzle me .

We have had an Eriba for 12 years. If one wheel is a bit low I tow the caravan  forward on to a piece of board. If it's a lot low I use two pieces of board. Then I unhitch and wind the jockey wheel up or down.

E&E quote the net weight of the system as 30kg (including heavy duty steadies) for the complete and 20kg for the compact.

I don’t know if the 30kg allows for the existing steadies that are replaced, so there maybe  a slight saving there. But because the system allows me to lift both wheels clear off the ground I don’t need or carry the caravan jack or the steady winder, so also a weight saving.

I don’t carry levelling ramps or blocks for the steadies either. Never been caught out by a sloping pitch yet, but if it was that bad, I find another pitch.

Thanks for that.  Our hope is that the ease and convenience will keep us using the van for some time to come in spite of mobility issues.

We had the E & P full system retro fitted to our 2200kg TA van, just over 2 years ago, yes its expensive, but wouldnt be without now.

There is the weight to be considered of 30 Kgs from your payload, for the single axle set up. So far touch wood it has been 100% reliable. It makes fitting 2 alko wheel locks so easy.

On their site it lists all the fitting agents.

You might be less puzzled if you are in your late 70's with mobility challenges.

My neighbour with mobility issues had one fitted 2.5 years ago. An E&P full system at around £3k I think.
