Seems no worse than usual to me, you aren't running any other programmes (like Updates/backups) at the same time are you?

Same here MM, I'm on a laptop and it takes ages to post anything and very slow to open up.

Everything else on the internet is working fine so it has to be C&MC.

My internet experience is fine on everything except this website. It takes a longtime to open the site and about 10 seconds to open each page.

Other sites like https://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/ open instantaneously, so why cannot this one?

It certainly has been slow during the evenings during the last couple of days. Probably more people using it at that time and servers that don't have the capacity to cope with a spike in demand?

It probably just as well they aren't updating the sites this month, otherwise it might start going backwards.

That's no excuse, it's slooow through the day time too. Other sites on the interweb are run in peoples box rooms and are faster.

whether in a rush or not, 10 secs to open a web page is pathetically slow.

If that was the delay to open the site maybe I could put up with it, but it's the delay on each action that makes it unacceptable.

I assume that the "club" must want to kill us off through the boredom of staring at a blank screen.

How strange that after days of crawling snail speed CT is now back to its normal self. Normal being only moderately slow.

I agree, It's one of the most poorly optimized websites I've had the misfortune to navigate. Pages take an age to load.

Please get your IT techies to check out the problem. Probably needs a new server or some such prohibitively expensive solution.

    And no...it's NOT me.

So how much of our annual subs are wasted by Grimstead Towers on their useless IT system?

This seems to be a recurring complaint about the delivery speed and perhaps positive action is required?

Could the current tech team get to work or should they be sacked in favour of a new, invigorated one that cares?

At a ripe old age  (mid 70's) I personally am not tech savvy but nonetheless as an end user am somewhat dissatisfied with the current status quo.

I generally use my phone to post, works as expected always.

Yesterday I tried the computer, I noticed the hard drive was constantly in use whilst i was trying to post to the CMC web site.

perhaps there is no incentive to speed this forum up, after all the forum as i see it is only used by a very very small percentage of club members, a couple of dozen maybe?, and it has been said before, Facebook now seems to be the place to be, and club staff appear to be much more responsive to queries etc on FB, not that i use it a lot as i do find a lot of useful information on this forum. I only use this forum from home via a laptop and I do not have any major problems and the rest of the site e.g. booking sites etc seems to be ok. I do log off most days and dont keep my laptop under my pillow as a just in case laughing

Although this site does have its 'off' days, I don't generally find it slow.  I've just been on the C&CC website and that's far worse. I've also just been loading pages from my Bookmarks bar (ones that I haven't visited recently - so they're not in cache memory) and some of those took an absolute age to load.  So, by comparison, I don't find this site too bad. I'm using an iMac with not particularly fast fibre broadband.

The whole site is painfully slow not just this forum. Trying to to compare CLs the other afternoon was like pulling teeth & took an age to open various pages.
