Having received my August Mag this morning I was interested to read about the Dashaway trailer or is it a caravan on pages 81/2 Anyway, What are your thoughts! Mine are that it’s definitely a niche market and getting on for £25k- it’ll probably stay that way! Clever no doubt and definitely off grid!

I thought it looked interesting and had some clever features . Then I saw the price.

It was presented as a solution to the demise of petrol/diesel cars in a future I'm unlikely to be involved in so I won't be buying one.

"Definitely off grid". Well I am not convinced it ever could be seen as that with a compressor fridge.

Interesting and it would suit some people but I agree it is far too expensive although a decent quality build might account for that.

My wife and I are hooked.

We live in Essex and arranged to view the Dashaway last week after reading about it in the current C & MH Club magazine.  We have today ordered one of these well engineered micro caravans to replace our ten year old motorhome.

From the demonstration I can assure you that they are superbly engineered and well built using quality components.  Stephen Wheeler of Wheelhome has many years of experience designing and building small campervans/caravans which is borne out by the innovative design of this caravan.

Don't dismiss this little caravan without having had a good look at it.  You can see one at the 2019 Western Motorhome Show, Three Counties Showground, Malvern, Worcestershire, WR13 6NW from 16-18th August 2019.

I agree that the Dashaway is not cheap to buy but we are happy with the price.

Having been campervanners/motorhomers for seven years we are now looking forward to life as micro caravanners in 2020 with anticipation when we plan to do the NC500 in our new toy.

It appears to have even less space than the cupboard under the stair inhabited by Potter junior.

Overpriced and too small, not a viable contender to replace our small motorhome. A very small almost tiny niche market.IMHO.

By the way good luck trying towing it up Beleach  na Ba on the 500.

I'm thinking Posty has lost my magazine, shame I'm interested in the subject of tiny caravans.

Go pod is currently up there, alot cheaper than this one.

You can get the report on the on line version of the magazine if you want a look.

The Go Pod might be similar but it is like comparing a Freedom with a Unicorn. Same use but entirely different in the flesh. The Dashaway is a far more advanced and liveable solution.
