Just heard today that Lunar Caravans have gone bust after 50 years in mid July, so if your after a bargain I'm sure some dealers will want to off load their stocks.

Bad news for those who have a live warranty, I only have 3 years of the water ingress part left, but it will have an effect on when it comes to sell it.

Was it something out of their control, or was it potential customers voting with their feet?   They have had their fair share of dissatisfied customers, but no more so than many other caravan manufacturers.

Worrying time for those owners who have significant time left on their warranties.  Some dealerships might honour warranty work on Lunas they have sold new, but a lot of them could be cash-strapped to the point of such goodwill being a financial disaster.

Buying a new caravan is not exactly a necessity if disposable incomes become stretched so, with the uncertain economic future of the UK under apparent threat, other manufacturers, particularly in the leisure industry, could easily follow Luna, along with associated companies down the line.

We had a manager who frequently quipped, "Nothing is forever", and time is proving him tro be right.

There is already a thread running on this subject, but while I’m here I think bad management was probably a major factor in it’s demise

I have to say that reading some of the faults on Lunars and the demoralising atmosphere they were built in, I wouldn’t thank you for a Lunar even if they were giving them away. I do feel for those who have bought them in good faith though. It reminds me of when I bought an Avondale!
