hi does anyone know what my rights are here, my fridge would not light on gas so I got a repair man to look at it ,he charged me £60 call out and said it was a faulty valve and he would have to order the part ,the part came and he charged me 140 for part and fitting it altogether around £200 , as soon as he left fridge went out and wouldn't re light I called him back and he came out again next day to look at it while I was at work , he text me to say the part was faulty and that he'd fitted a new one ,  when I got home fridge was on , but when I switched it off and tried to light it again later there was nothing again , I called him again and he said he's done everything he could think off and it was working when he left , does anyone know what my rights are here as I am 200 down and still no fridge ??

Google is your friend here but I suspect any action you contemplate won’t be worthwhile.

First of all you need a second opinion in writing from an accredited source.

Was the engineer accredited? If he was and you are not satisfied then you should be able to get redress from the trade body he belongs to. He obviously hasn’t done everything he can because your fridge still isn’t working! I would certainly take DDs advice and get some legal advice,
